Charles Behm

Charles T. Behm, 236 Bayview Drive, Celina, died today, July 6, 2004, at his residence.
   Arrangements are pending at W. H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina.


Marie Fischbach

Marie A. W. Fischbach, 89, formerly of 10 N. Herman St., New Bremen, died at 9 p.m. July 4, 2004, at Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community.
   She was born Jan. 27, 1915, near New Bremen, to August and Amelia Kamman Kuest. On Jan. 30, 1947, she married Paul A. D. Fischbach who died April 16, 1999.
   Surviving are two sons, Donald P. (Alice) of Wapakoneta and Roger E. (Jean) of Raleigh, N.C.; a daughter, Eileen A. (Charles) Gamble, New Bremen; a sister, Helen Schroer, St. Marys; a sister-in-law, Alma Kuest, Fort Loramie; eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
   Deceased are a brother, Harold Kuest, and two sisters, Lois Wenning and Irene Quellhorst.
   She retired from Gilberg Furniture and formerly worked at Crown Controls Corporation, both of New Bremen. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, where she had been a Sunday School teacher, and belonged to the Busy 12 of the church, Christian Service Guild and the Woodman Circle, all of New Bremen.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. John W. Tostrick officiating. Burial will follow at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
   Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, and after 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the church.
   Contributions can be made to the church memorial fund or Otterbein St. Marys.


Harry Neate

Harry T. Neate, 89, 15249 Greenville Road, Van Wert, died at 5:50 a.m. July 5, 2004, at Lincolnway Home, Middle Point.
   He was born Dec. 12, 1914, in Van Wert County, to John William and Lillie Butler Neate. On Feb. 19, 1938, he married Helen L. Ault who survives.
   Also surviving are two sons, Roger L. (Pat) and Ronald D. (Pamela), all of Van Wert; a brother, Orley Wayne of Angola, Ind.; a sister, Doris Cramer, Edgerton; six grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren, five great-grandchildren, 11 stepgreat-grandchildren and four stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
   Deceased are three brothers, Clarence H., Ralph Franklin and an infant; three sisters, Gladys Nolan, Ethel M. Bowmer and an infant; a grandson and a stepgrandson.
   He was a retired farmer and plowman who competed in several national plowing contests and hosted the Farm Focus program in 1989. He was a member of Kingsley United Methodist Church, where he had served as a church trustee, Van Wert County Farm Bureau, Ohio Farmer's Union and Liberty and Pleasant Granges.
   Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, the Rev. Chuck Glover officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City.
   Calling is after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
   Contributions can be made to the church.


Tony Smelser

Tony V. Smelser, 51, 622 1/2 W. Walnut St., Coldwater, died at 8:15 a.m. July 3, 2004, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. Death was due to natural causes.
   He was born Dec. 23, 1952, in Canada, to Edwin and Odelia Bomholt Smelser. His mother survives in Coldwater.
   Also surviving are two sons, Andy and Jon, both of Celina; and a sister, Barb Dameron, Coldwater.
   He was a store director at Meijer in Dayton. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, where he was the first guitarist to play for guitar Masses.
   Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
   Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10:15 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.


Susana Williams

Susana M. Williams, 49, 3601 Ohio 703, Celina, died at 9:23 p.m. July 3, 2004, at her residence. Death was due to cancer.
   She was born Nov. 10, 1954, in Chicago, Ill., to Dale and Mary Whited Leonard. They survive in Celina.
   Also surviving are three daughters, Joanna (Christopher) Goins and Holly (Kevin) Jackson, all of St. Marys, and Ashley of Celina; three brothers, Danny (Lori) Leonard, Terry (Becky) Leonard and Steve (Renee) Leonard, all of Celina; two sisters, Debra (Clem) Ralston, Mendon, and Cindy (Fred) Pizana, Ligonier, Ind.; and six grandchildren.
   She was an employee of the Ohio Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation and a student at Rhodes College, both of Lima. She had retired from Trim-Trends in Spencerville after 24 years.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Rick Brosher officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Auglaize County.
   Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
