Anthony Holthaus Anthony C. Holthaus, 76, Short Road, Fort Loramie, died at 6:50 a.m. July 10, 2004, at his home. He was born June 12, 1928, in Fort Loramie, to Bernard H. and Caroline Prenger Holthaus. On May 8, 1957, he married Roseann C. Heitkamp of Maria Stein, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Randy (Mary) and Roger (Wendy), all of Fort Loramie; four daughters, Jeanne (Tim) Lentz, Anna, Deb (Ron) Gaier and Sue Holthaus, all of Fort Loramie, and Barb (Jamie) Austin, Sidney; two brothers, Lester of Fort Loramie and Bernard (Mary) of Anna; a sister, Catherine of Fort Loramie; and 10 grandchildren. Deceased are three brothers, Alfred, Marcellus and Victor; a sister, Rita; and a grandson. He retired as a self-employed farmer in 1993. He served in the U.S. Army following the Korean War and was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and the Apostleship of Prayer, both of Fort Loramie. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Gehret Funeral Home, Fort Loramie. Contributions can be made to the Fort Loramie Rescue Squad. |
