Donald "Chuck" Justis, 78, of Celina, died Aug. 22, 2004, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born Jan. 24, 1926, in Dayton, to William and Molly Robinson Justis. Surviving with his wife, Dolores, are four sons, William, Timothy (Jennifer), Anthony and Joseph (Melissa); three daughters, Rebecca Williams, Mary Eichel and Angela Justis (Joe Elam) ; a sister, Faye Davidson; a brother-in-law, Lee Slife; 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A sister, Doris Slife, is deceased. He retired from NCR after 32 years of service and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9684, Dayton, and American Legion Post 210, Celina. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Newcomer-Farley Funeral Home, Dayton, with burial to follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. Services for Ben Vorhees were 11 a.m. Aug. 21, 2004, at W.H. Dick & Son Funeral Home, Mendon, the Rev. Paul Bunnell officiated. Organist was Brenda Willrath. Pallbearers to Mendon Cemetery were Brock Roehm, Pat Roether, Brad Now, Wade Piper, Ben Schmidt and John Meinerding. Military rites were conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5713 and American Legion Post 210, both of Celina. Jeremy Roehm was an honorary pallbearer. |
