Wilks Darnell

Wilks E. Darnell, 86, of Celina, died Oct. 6, 2004, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
   Funeral arrangement are pending at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.


Mitchell Fetters

Mitchell Fetters, 30, 1005 Cantebury Drive, Celina, died at 5:04 a.m. Oct. 6, 2004, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. Death was due to leukemia.
   He was born March 9, 1974, in Celina, to Jerry and Deborah J. Euckert Fetters who survive in Celina.
   Other survivors are a brother, Brian (Valerie) of Celina; and a grandmother, Virginia A. Euckert, Celina.
   Deceased are grandfathers, Donald E. Euckert and Chester Fetters, and a grandmother, Blanche Sowders.
   He was formerly employed by the city of Celina's street department and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Celina. He also was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) post 5713, American Legion and Moose lodge, all of Celina.
   Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Douglas Meyer officiating. Burial is at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
   Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
   Contributions can be made to the Cancer Association of Mercer County.


Edward Fiely

St. Henry native Edward A. Fiely, 80, Centerville, died Oct. 6, 2004, at Hospice of Dayton.
   He was born April 13, 1924, in St. Henry, to Henry and Rosa Albers Fiely. His wife, Mary A. Fullenkamp, is deceased.
   Survivors include four sons, Chuck (Nancy), Bill (Ellen), Jeff (Karen) and Greg (Melody); a daughter, Susan (Chuck) Eisenhauer, Dayton; a sister, Mary Ann Westendorf; and 14 grandchildren.
   He retired from the former Standard Register Co., Dayton, after 38 years of service. A U.S. Marine veteran of World War II, he served in the Pacific Theater.
   Funeral Mass is 10:15 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the Incarnation, Dayton. Burial is at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton.
   Calling is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Tobias Funeral Home, Dayton, where a prayer service will be held at 9:45 a.m. Saturday.
   Contributions can be made to Hospice of Dayton.


Mary Lou Hainline

Mary Lou Hainline, 77, 1025 Motz St., St. Marys, died at 11 a.m. Oct. 6, 2004, at Otterbein-St. Marys Retirement Living Community, St. Marys.
   Funeral arrangements are pending at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys.


Brittany Shaffer

Brittany Leigh Shaffer, 15, 11661 state Route 707, Mendon, died Oct. 5, 2004, from injuries sustained in a traffic accident on Tomlinson Road in Union Township.
   She was born May 13, 1989, in Lima, to James D. & LeighAnn Zizelman Shaffer who survive.
   Other survivors are two brothers, Brian and Brad, at home; grandparents, Ardyth Shaffer, Rockford, and James and Marietta Godwin, Mendon; and great-grandmother, Virginia Zizelman, Rockford.
   Deceased are her grandfathers, Max Shaffer and Louie Zizelman.
   She was a sophomore at Parkway High School where she was a member of the varsity golf team and a basketball team statistician. She was a member of Mendon United Methodist Church and its youth group, and was active in the Trailblazers 4-H Club.
   Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Revs. Dr. Paul Bunnell and Dean Bruce officiating. Burial is at Mendon Cemetery.
   Calling is 2-4:30 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Mendon, and one hour before services at the church.
   Contributions can be made to the Trailblazers 4-H Club or the church youth group.
