Edna Bickham

Former Kossuth resident Edna M. Bickham, 87, of Brenham, Texas, died Oct. 7, 2004, at her home.
   Funeral arrangements are pending at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville.


Wilks Darnell

Wilks E. Darnell, 86, 1001 Myers Road, Celina, died at 7:10 p.m. Oct. 6, 2004, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
   He was born July 4, 1918, in Caruthersville, Mo., to James Edward and Angieline Rice Darnell. On June 28, 1938, he married Elizabeth Siefker who died Nov. 28, 1991.
   Survivors include a son, James (Cathy) of Batavia; two daughters, Mary Ann (Paul) Elking and Toni (Douglas) Shema, all of Celina; two brothers, Donald (Jackie) and Alfred (Jennie), all of Lima; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
   Deceased are a brother, Robert; a sister, Rose Mary; and a grandson.
   He was a truck driver for Duff Trucking and retired from the former Grand Square Camper Sales in Celina. A U.S. Marine Corp veteran of World War II, he was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina.
   Funeral Mass is 3 p.m. Sunday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Richard Riedel officiating. Burial will be at a later date at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Celina.
   Calling is 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
   Contributions can be made to the church endowment fund.


Mitchell Fetters

Mitchell Fetters, 30, 1005 Cantebury Drive, Celina, died at 5:04 a.m. Oct. 6, 2004, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. Death was due to leukemia.
   He was born March 9, 1974, in Celina, to Jerry and Debra L. Euckert Fetters who survive in Celina.
   Other survivors are a brother, Brian (Valerie) of Celina; and a grandmother, Virginia A. Euckert, Celina.
   Deceased are grandfathers, Donald E. Euckert and Chester Fetters, and a grandmother, Blanche Sowders.
   He was formerly employed by the city of Celina's street department and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Celina. He also was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) post 5713, American Legion and Moose lodge, all of Celina.
   Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Celina, the Rev. Douglas Meyer officiating. Burial is at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
   Calling is 2-8 p.m. today at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
   Contributions can be made to the Cancer Association of Mercer County.


Thelma Koesters

Thelma M. Koesters, 81, 6422 Fort Recovery-Minster Road, Maria Stein, died in the Dayton Heart Hospital at 12:43 p.m. Oct. 7, 2004.
   She was born July 4, 1923, in Dayton, to August and Marie Helmsing Dahlinghaus. On Feb. 5, 1949, she married Raymond J. Koesters who survives.
   Other survivors are three sons, Thomas (Karen) of Indianapolis, Ind., John (Becky) of Wilmington, and Carl (Sharon) of Maria Stein; two daughters, Rita Price, Greenville, and June (Mark) Hoying, McCartyville; a sister, Norma Jean Wilbur, Johnson City, N.Y.; two sisters-in-law, Marlene Dahlinghaus, Dayton, and Vivian Koesters, Coldwater; 13 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
   Deceased are two brothers, Earl and Vern; and a granddaughter.
   She was a homemaker and member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Cassella, and its ladies sodality. She also was a member of the Catholic Knights of America, Cassella.
   Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Ken Schroeder officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
   Calling is 2-8 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.
