Mary Davis

Mary M. Davis, 93, formerly of Mercer and a current resident of Celina Manor Nursing Home, died at 3:24 a.m. Oct. 19, 2004, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
   She was born Jan. 20, 1911, in Auglaize County, to Harry Benjamin and Dorothy Ruth Longsworth Sprague. On Jan. 22, 1927, she married Floyd E. Davis who died Sept. 21, 1985.
   Surviving are two daughters, Bessie (Paul) Sanders, Celina, and Edna Neff, Port Clinton; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
   Deceased are a son, Paul; a daughter, Anna May; two sisters, Mildred Archer and Helen Yahn; and a niece, Joan Ellis, who was raised in the Davis home.
   She owned and operated Davis Upholstery in Mercer for 30 years and attended The Lord's Church, Celina.
   Services are 11 a.m. Friday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Randy Christian officiating. Burial will follow at Friends Chapel Cemetery.
   Calling is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.


Alice Kramer

Alice Rose Kramer, 75, formerly of Chickasaw, died at 4 a.m. Oct. 19, 2004, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
   She was born Dec. 15, 1928, in Dayton, to Isadore and Bertha Tumbusch Steinke. On April 30, 1949, she married Norbert Kramer who survives.
   Also surviving are four sons, Bill of Columbus, Dave (Colleen) of Bowling Green, Ken (Linda) of Gahanna, and Dan (Chris) of Maria Stein; three daughters, Cindy Stucke and Sue (Terry) Thobe, all of Chickasaw, and Maria (Mike) Reithman, Maria Stein; four brothers, Charles (Armella) Steinke, Fort Loramie, Jim (Millie) Steinke, Dayton, Paul (Margie) Steinke, Montezuma, and Jesse (Shirley) Steinke, Coldwater; two sisters, Esther (Tim) Mattingly, Dayton, and Alma (Len) Clune, New Bremen; 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
   Deceased are a daughter-in-law, Nancy, and a sister, Lily.
   She was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church in Chickasaw, where she had been a CCD teacher for more than 30 years and sacristan. She also was a member of the Rosary-Altar Sodality of the church.
   Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Ken Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
   Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-10 a.m. Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
