Nelle Macwhinney Nelle Augusta Macwhinney, 97, of Delphos, died at 8:40 p.m. Dec. 20, 2004, at Van Crest Health Care Center, Delphos. She was born Feb. 21, 1907, in Geneva, Ind., to Clement and Bessie Goff Greene. Her husband, Francis M. Macwhinney, is deceased. Surviving are four sons, Deane of Spencerville, Don of Delphos, Dave of Celina, and Lee of Lima; a daughter, Kay Best, Delphos; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Two brothers and four sisters are deceased. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Delphos. Services are 1 p.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. David Howell officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Cemetery, Geneva. Calling is 2-8 p.m. today at Harter & Schier Funeral Home, Delphos, and after noon Thursday at the church. Olive B. "Bea" Painter, 89, 1216 Fox Road, Fort Recovery, died at 2:35 a.m. Dec. 21, 2004, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater. She was born April 7, 1915, in Rosehill, to William and Ethel Brock Miller. On Dec. 25, 1937, she married Don Painter who died Jan. 19, 1982. Surviving are two sons, Robert of Fort Recovery, and Donald (Sheila) of Sylvania; two daughters, Juanita (Herb) McClain, Greenville, and Helen (Ronald) Story, Richmond, Ind.; two brothers, Robert (Dixie) Miller and Lowell (Janis) Miller, all of Greenville; a sister, Fern Miller, Union City; one grandchild and five stepgrandchildren. Deceased are a son, Wayne, and a sister, Waveline Miller. She was a homemaker who served on the Gibson Township Board of Election and attended the former Bethel Evangelical United Brethren Church, Fort Recovery. She was a Gold Star mother with the Fort Recovery American Legion and a member of the Bethel Ladies Aid. Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, the Rev. Verl Ballmer officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery, Fort Recovery. Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday and after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
