Devin Burdg Devin Mykal Burdg, 4-month-old son of Benny Graylon and Chasity DeShannon Matheny Burdg of Rockford, died at 6:50 a.m. Jan. 5, 2005, at Children's Hospital, Columbus. Death was due to an apparent heart condition. He was born Sept. 6, 2004, in Lima. Surviving with his parents are a brother, Donovan Quade, at home; grandparents, Joyce Smitley, Berne, Ind., Benny Buckner, Ripley, Tenn., and Sharon Thomas, Van Wert; and great-grandparents, Sandy Achtermann, Cuyahoga Falls, and Winifred Johnson, Van Wert. Deceased is a grandfather, John Angle. There are no services. Calling is 10-11 a.m. Saturday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford. Burial is at Liberty Chapel Cemetery just outside of Rockford. Ella J. Dietrich, 85, of Willshire, died at 9:15 p.m. Jan. 5, 2005, at The Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford. She was born Feb. 20, 1919, in Adams County, Ind., to Walter and Paula Bienz Thieme. On May 29, 1937, she married Carl A. F. Dietrich who died Jan. 18, 1987. Survivors are a son, Steve (Juli) of Convoy; four daughters, Barbara Bulmahn and Marlene (Lee) Purdy, all of Fort Wayne, Ind., Bonita (Jan) Schlickman, Willshire, and Sherry (Gary) Shaffer, Rockford; two brothers, Edgar Thieme, Hoagland, Ind., and Harold Thieme, Decatur, Ind.; a sister, Hilda Stoppenhagen, Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Deceased are a grandson and two granddaughters. She was a homemaker, a former waitress and cook at the Village Restaurant, Willshire, and a cook at Parkway Local Schools. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Schumm, and its Lutheran Women's Missionary League, the Wren Garden Club, YWCA, and a volunteer for the American Red Cross. Services are 11 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Robert Becker officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery. Calling is 6-8 p.m. Saturday and 12-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Ind., and 10 a.m. Monday at the church. Thelma Elizabeth Suhr, 90, 1038 Willow St., Celina, died Jan. 5, 2005, at her home. She was born Oct. 28, 1914, in Dayton, to William J. & Rosa Rausch Suhr. Surviving is a niece and nephew, Robert L. and Martha Hecht, Celina; five great-nephews and two great-nieces. Deceased are a brother, William Suhr; and sisters, Ruth Hecht and Marie Losekamp. She retired from Celina Insurance Group after 47 years. A graduate of Celina High School, she was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev.
