Betty Schockman Betty J. Schockman, 79, 303 Harbor Drive, Celina, died at 8:15 a.m. Feb. 5, 2005, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. She was born Nov. 26, 1925, in Detroit, to Henry and Sylvia Droppelman Vian. On May 27, 1946, she married Leo W. Schockman who is deceased. Surviving are four daughters, Carolyn Shaner, St. Henry, Gloria (Michael) Fortman and Joreen Gonzalez, all of Celina, and Janet (Michael) Kittle, Cridersville; two half sisters, Mary Romer, Fort Recovery, and Jane Tobe, St. Henry; two sisters-in-law, Delores Vian, Greenville, and Margaret Vian, Celina; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Deceased are an infant daughter, Candace Ann; two brothers, Joe and Bob Vian; and two half sisters, Margaret Barnett and Alvira Lose. She was a homemaker and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary, both of Celina, and the St. Henry Band. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Richard Riedel officiating. Burial will follow at St. Henry Catholic Cemetery, St. Henry. Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina. Contributions can be made to the Immaculate Conception Endowment Fund. |
