Douglas Barhorst Douglas E. "Barney" Barhorst, 54, 212 Linwood Drive, Greenville, died at 8:45 a.m. Feb. 16, 2005, at Wayne Hospital, Greenville. Death was due to natural causes. He was born Feb. 20, 1950, in Sidney, to Walter Barhorst and Joan Thompson Collett. His father and stepmother, June, survive in Sidney. His mother is deceased, and his wife, the former Lucille Acton, is deceased. Surviving are his companion, Linda Arthur; two brothers, Dennis (Cindy) of Winder, Ga., and Mark (Amy) of New Bremen; and three sisters, Darla (Rick) McMiller, Celina, Annette Buzard and Anita McMiller, both of Greenville. An infant son, Matthew, is deceased. He retired from General Motors (Delco-Moraine) in 1998 after 30 years of service and started his own apparel embroidery business called Logos. He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Fraternal Order of Eagles and Sons of the American Legion, all of Greenville, and a 1968 graduate of Gettysburg High School. Services are 3 p.m. Saturday at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Pastor Michael Althauser officiating. Burial will follow at Gettysburg Cemetery. Lorene M. Minnich, 93, 1900 Randalia Drive, Fort Wayne, Ind., formerly of Portland, Ind., died at 11:45 a.m. Feb. 17, 2005, at St. Anne's Home & Retirement Community, Fort Wayne. She was born Sept. 10, 1911, in Portland, to George and Elizabeth Krieg Alig. On Jan. 6, 1935, she married Raymond J. Minnich who died Dec. 7, 1979. Surviving are a son, George (Marie) of Portland; a daughter-in-law, Valerie, Texas; five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A son, Robert, is deceased. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Altar Sodality, both of St. Anthony, St. Cecelia Knights of St. John, Coldwater, and Catholic Knights of America, St. Joe. Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Ronald Wilker officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Jerry Stucke, 69, 341 U.S. 127, Maria Stein, died at 11:43 a.m. Feb. 17, 2005, at Norton Audubon Hospital, Louisville, Ky. He reportedly became ill while attending a farm machinery show.
