April Atkinson April J. Atkinson, 35, formerly of Dooling, Ga., died at 9:10 a.m. March 11, 2005, at Celina Manor Nursing Home. She was born Oct. 9, 1969, in Camden, N.J., to Roger and Irene Kennedy Datres. Surviving with her ex-husband, Roger Atkinson of Dooling, are a brother, Roger (Diana) Datres, Celina; three nephews and two nieces. She had been a sales representative. Hilda Ann Axe, 83, 3860 Philothea Road, Coldwater, died March 11, 2005, at home. She was born March 11, 1922, in Mercer County, to Joseph and Mary Post Wenning. On Sept. 6, 1941, she married Charles Axe, who died June 14, 2000. Survivors include a son, Larry (Ginny), McCartyville; a daughter, Linda (Michael) Braun, Coldwater; two brothers, Kenneth Wenning, McCartyville, and Mark (Joan) Wenning, St. Henry; four sisters, Rosemary Muhlenkamp and Madonna (Joe) Rose, both of Coldwater, Bernice Barge, Montezuma, and Virginia Streacker, Florida; three sisters-in-law, Alberta Wenning and Betty Wenning, Coldwater, and Mary Moeller, Celina; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Isadore, Norbert, Frederick and Louis; three sisters, Julietta Muhlenkamp, Rita Wenning, and Martha Rawley; two infant siblings; and a grandchild. She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church, Philothea, and a member of the Ladies Altar Sodality of the church. She had worked at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., St. Marys, and Beatrice Foods, New Bremen. Services were 2:30 p.m. today at the church, the Rev. Ronald Wilker officiated. Werner W. Depweg, 85, 4646 Philothea Road, St. Henry, died March 11, 2005, at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater. He was born May 29, 1919, in St. Henry, to Alphonse and Veronica Dorsten Depweg. On Nov. 30, 1963, he married Carla J. Vannett who died Dec. 15, 1985. Surviving are four sons, Douglas and Roger (Linda), all of St. Henry, Steve of Hampton, Va., and Mike of Coldwater; three daughters, Sandy (James) Haynes, Celina, Elaine and Karen, both of Coldwater; a sister, Alice Behm, Mobile, Ala.; his mother-in-law, Lorena Vannett, Coldwater; and eight grandchildren. Deceased are a brother, Victor; a sister, Julietta Rogers; and a grandchild. He was a farmer and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, and Mercer County Farm Bureau. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater. Richard Ernest "Ernie" Goodwin, 76, of Rockford, died at 10:45 a.m. March 13 at Colonial Nursing Home, Rockford. He was born April 17, 1928, in Lima, to Elmer Ernest and Pauline Ralston Goodwin. On Nov. 1, 1946, he married Mary Lou Bailey who survives. Also surviving are a son, Randy (Belinda) of Commerce Township, Mich.; a daughter, Bekkie (Rolland) Mowery, Van Wert; a sister, Jean (Jim) Pontius, Van Wert; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was the past owner of Colonial Nursing Home and Ernie's Family Restaurant, both of Rockford. He was former Rockford mayor and a former member of Shanes Lodge 377, Free & Accepted Masons, Rockford. John N. Mueller, 58, 813 Cecilia Drive, Coldwater, died today, March 14, 2005, at Dayton Heart Hospital. Death was due to natural causes. He was born Sept. 11, 1946, in Ohio, to Albert and Bernadine Fortkamp Mueller. On May 11, 1968, he married Thelma Braun who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Dean (Tanya) of Sharpsville, Ind., and James of Muncie, Ind.; two daughters, Jackie (Mike) Gilmore and Becky (Jamie) Stammen, all of Coldwater; two brothers, Richard (Ann) of New Bremen and Ed (Mary) of Grifton, N.C.; two sisters, Irene (Tom) Goettemoeller, Maria Stein, and JoAnn (Bernard) Stueve, Minster; and six grandchildren. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 1991 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3025, all of Coldwater, a member and past chaplain of Coldwater American Legion Post 470 and a former high school track official. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Ronald Wilker officiating. Burial will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater, with the American Legion conducting military rites. Lynda Carol Sudman, 57, 02386 state Route 219, St. Marys, died at 5:35 p.m. March 13, 2005, at her home. Death was due to natural causes. She was born Dec. 26, 1947, in Lima, to Elmer C. and Alice Hirn Burnett. Her mother survives in St. Marys. On Aug. 5, 1965, she married Lee Sudman who survives. Also surviving are a son, Ron (Michelle), and a daughter, Leslie (Ben) Rupert, all of St. Marys; three brothers, John (Liz) Burnett, Half Moon Bay, Calif., David (Donna) Burnett, Spencerville, and Tim (Sandy) Burnett, Somerset, Va.; a brother-in-law, Don Ruff, Ridgecrest, Calif.; her mother-in-law, Ethel Sudman, New Bremen; and six grandchildren. A sister, Shirley Ann Ruff, is deceased. She had served as St. Marys Township clerk 17 years and was a visiting clerk for the Ohio Auditor's Office. A 1965 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School, she was a member of St. Pauls United Church of Christ, New Bremen, Veterans of Foreign Wars, St. Marys, and the Auglaize County Township Association. Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Richard Weir officiating. Burial will follow at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
