John Kingen

John F. Kingen, 78, formerly of Celina, died March 20, 2005, at Vancrest Health Care Center, Van Wert.
   He was born Nov. 3, 1926, in Poneto, Ind., to Henry and Dollie Osburn Kingen. On March 22, 1958, he married Opal L. Dunlap who died Aug. 27, 2004.
   Surviving are four sons, Tim (Becky) of Muncie, Ind., Sam (Lois) of Decatur, Ind., Randy (Rene') and Guy, all of St. Marys; a daughter, Marilyn (Steven) Routt, Van Wert; three stepsons, Carl (Sandy) Garee, Union City, Ind., Kenny Correll Jr., Indianapolis, and Greg (Kathy) Correll, Celina; a brother, Sam (Lena) of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; a sister, Lucille (Pat) Murphy, Bluffton, Ind.; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
   A son, Ricky, and a stepson, Bob Correll, are deceased.
   He retired in 1990 from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., St. Marys, after 35 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the St. Marys Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.
   Services are 1 p.m. Thursday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Robert Warren officiating. Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
   Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
   Contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.


Pauline Koons

Pauline Christian Koons, of Celina, died March 21, 2005, at her winter home in Sebring, Fla.
   Arrangements are pending at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.


Quentin Lykins

Quentin Lykins, 60, 324 S. Front St., St. Marys, died at 4:48 p.m. March 18, 2005, at Shane Hill Nursing Home, Rockford. Death was due to cancer.
   He was born Sept. 19, 1944, in Wayland, Ky., to Charles and Harriet Wahl Lykins. On Nov. 20, 1965, he married Sharon Schmidt who survives.
   Other survivors are a son, Cory of St. Marys; a daughter, Joelle (Jeff) Joseph, Celina; two sisters, Bonnie Slone, Chillicothe, and Jennie Hole, Celina; and three grandchildren.
   Deceased are two brothers, Charles and Fred Lykins, and a sister, Shelby.
   He was retired from Stamco, New Bremen, and was a U.S. Army veteran.
   Graveside services and burial are 1 p.m. today at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys, Pete Huff officiating.
   Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys had charge of arrangements.
   Contributions can be made to the State of the Heart Home Health and Hospice.


Herbert Meier

Herbert J. Meier, 79, formerly of Celina, died at 8:15 p.m. March 20, 2005, in Green Valley, Ariz.
   He was born Aug. 19, 1925, in Celina, to Joseph and Mary Schoesser Meier.
   Surviving are three brothers, Brother Mary Norbert (Paul), residing at the Trappist Monastery in Trappist, Ky., Robert B. (Helen) of Celina and Joseph L. (Juanita) of Wapakoneta; and a sister, Marian C. (Edward E.) Rump, New Bremen.
   He was an engineer at Hughes Aircraft in Tucson, Ariz., before retiring in 1975 and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School, Celina, and the University of Dayton.
   The body was cremated at his request and no services are planned.
   Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, has charge of arrangements.
