Velma Parent

Velma Fern Parent, 215 Dogwood Drive, Celina, died at 3 a.m. May 1, 2005, at The Gardens at Celina.
   Arrangements are pending at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.


James Prueter

James Prueter, 79, 5885 Southland Road, New Knoxville, died at 8:05 p.m. April 29, 2005, at Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community.
   He was born June 30, 1925, in New Knoxville, to August and Bertha Duhme Prueter. On June 29, 1946, he married Dorothy Schrolucke who survives.
   Also surviving are a son, Robert (Barbara) of New Knoxville; a daughter, Ann (Tom) Leffel, New Knoxville; two brothers, Elwood of Botkins and Don of New Knoxville; three sisters, Naomi Howe, Irma (Ralph) Hoelscher and Nancy (Wayne) Bambauer, all of New Knoxville; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
   He had been a dairy farmer and a partner in Prueter Construction Co. A U.S. Navy Seabee during World War II, he was a member of First United Church of Christ and American Legion Post 444, both of New Knoxville, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9289, St. Marys.
   Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Mitch Reed officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville.
   Calling is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the church's Heritage Room.
   Contributions can be made to Celina Visiting Nurses.
   Vornholt-Miller Funeral Home, New Knoxville, has charge of arrangements.


Kathleen Wehrman

Kathleen Ruth Wehrman, 78, West Cisco Road, Sidney, died April 30, 2005, at the Dorothy Love Retirement Community, Sidney.
   She was born Jan. 27, 1927, in Russia, to John and Margaret Didier Phlipot. On June 24, 1948, she married Carl J. Wehrman who is deceased.
   Surviving are five sons, Jim (Sandra) of Urbana, Bill (Mary) and Ray (Terri), all of Sidney, Roger of Fort Loramie, and Pat (Debra) of Anna; and six daughters, Elizabeth (Dennis) Dahlinghaus, Minster, Linda (Dave) Barhorst, Sidney, Ruth (Dave) Clark, Troy, Joan (Jerry) Schulze, Yorkshire, Barbara (Keith) Paulus, Russia, and Treva (Ted) Siegel, Fort Loramie.
   Other survivors include four brothers, Harold (Juliana) Phlipot, Versailles, Nicholas Phlipot, address unknown, Conrad (Mary) Phlipot, Russia, and Marion (Angela) Phlipt, Newport; two sisters, Henrietta (Joe) Baltes, Versailles, and Erna Voisard, Russia; a brother-in-law, Jim Monnin, Xenia; 28 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
   Deceased are two children, Anthony and Ann; a brother, Victor Phlipot; two sisters, Gertrude Schulze and Maxine Monnin; and a great-grandchild.
   She was a homemaker who had worked as housekeeper at the former St. Patrick Catholic Church rectory for 10 years. A 1945 graduate of Russia High School, she was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and St. Ann's Ladies Sodality, both of Fort Loramie, the Catholic Rural Life Association and the National Farmers Organization.
   Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery.
   Calling is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Gehret Funeral Home, Fort Loramie.
   Contributions can be made to the Dorothy Love Employee Christmans Fund or a charity of the donor's choice.


Janet Wietholter

Janet S. Wietholter, 57, 319 S. Vine St., St. Marys, died at 8:25 p.m. April 29, 2005, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. Death was due to cancer.
   She was born Jan. 15, 1948, in St. Marys, to Godlieb and Nelma Fannon Hecht. Her mother survives in St. Marys. On Dec. 14, 1968, she married Daniel Wietholter who survives.
   Also surviving are four sons, James and Daniel Jr., both of St. Marys, Chris (Cindy) of Piqua and Paul (Karrie) of New Knoxville; two daughters, Erica (Donny) Ickes, Rising Sun, and Trisha (Matt) Helmlinger, St. Marys; three brothers, Larry (Sue) Hecht, New Knoxville, Richard and Mark (Betty) Hecht, all of St. Marys; three sisters, Ruth (Maurice) Herron, New Knoxville, Diane (John) Powell, North Port, Fla., and Terri Cable, St. Marys; and 17 grandchildren.
   Two brothers, Ronnie and Jerry Hecht, are deceased.
   She was a homemaker and a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary 767, St. Marys.
   Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
   Calling is 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
