Larry Cox

Larry D. Cox, 63, of Greenville, died at 12:30 a.m. May 2, 2005, at Wayne Hospital, Greenville, of natural causes.
   He was born Oct. 25, 1941, in Greenville, to Roy Dale Cox and Betty Jean Gavit Cox Booker. His mother survives in Greenville. On Jan. 6, 1062, he married Sharon Alexander who survives.
   Also surviving are a son, Jeffery Lloyd of Greenville; two brothers, Gene of Ansonia and Bill, of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.
   Deceased are a son, David Arthur; a brother, Jerry; and a nephew.
   He retired in December 2004 from Greenville City Schools after working many years at New Idea in Coldwater. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Ohio Gun Collectors Club, Black Hawk Rifle Club, Valley City Rifle Club, Annie Oakley Rifle Club and the Greenville Liar's Club.
   Services are 1 p.m. Thursday at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, the Rev. Randy Devor officiating. Burial will follow at Greenville Cemetery.
   Calling is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
   Contributions can be made to the National Rifle Association or the Larry D. Cox Memorial Fund at Greenville City Schools.


Velma Parent

Velma "Fern" Parent, 79, formerly of 215 Dogwood Drive, Celina, died at 3 a.m. May 1, 2005, at The Gardens at Celina.
   She was born Dec. 5, 1925, in Akron, to Russell and Bessie May Campbell Frazier. On April 14, 1944, she married Roger L. Parent Sr. who died Dec. 24, 1988.
   Surviving are two sons, Dennis (Julie) of St. Marys and Edward (Rosie) of Fort Wayne, Ind.; two daughters, Linda (Jim) Zizelman, Rockford, and Trudy (Butch) Caffall, Leesburg, Va.; a daughter-in-law, Rev. Mary Kay Parent-Brown, St. Marys; two sisters, Jackie (Earl) Menefee, Clinton, and Bessie (Vince) Lorkowski, Tallmadge; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
   A son, Roger Jr., is deceased.
   She was a homemaker.
   Graveside services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys, the Rev. Mary Kay Parent-Brown officiating.
   Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, has charge of arrangements.


Iola Schuck

Iola "Pat" R. Schuck, 94, North Walnut Street, Celina, died May 2, 2005, at the Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.
   Services are pending at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina.


William Stover Sr.

William Alvin Stover Sr., 80, 523 N. Mill St., Celina, died at 4:35 p.m. May 2, 2005, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
   He was born Sept. 19, 1924, in Celina, to Alvin and Lela Roberts Stover. On June 21, 1947, he married Dorothy Mersman who survives.
   Also surviving are two sons, Bill (Janet) and Bob (Helen), both of Celina; a daughter, Mary Jane of Celina; two sisters, Virginia (John) Widner and Phyllis Hull, all of Celina; and four grandchildren.
   Deceased are a brother-in-law, Bill Hull, and a granddaughter.
   He retired in 1993 as a stereocaster at The Daily Standard. He graduated from Celina High School in 1942 and served in the Merchant Marines during World War II.
   Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina, the Rev. Richard Riedel officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
   Memorial gathering will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, and after 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the church.
   Contributions can be made to the I.C. Endowment Fund.
