Patrick Axe

Patrick J. Axe, 75, 2266 Kishler Drive, St. Marys, died of acute leukemia at 7 a.m. May 3, 2005, at his home.
   He was born July 12, 1929, near Montezuma, to Frank and Beatrice Kenefake Axe. On Nov. 17, 1951, he married Bobbie Jane Long who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Dean (Juli) of St. Marys, Timothy of Bradford and David (Virginia) of Montezuma; a daughter, Pamela (David) Grusz, Englewood; a brother, Frank (Pauline) of St. Marys; a sister, Rita (Neil) Miley, St. Marys; a sister-in-law, Birdie Axe, St. Marys; and 11 grandchildren.
   Deceased are a son, Michael J., and an infant sister, Jean Ann.
   He owned Reliable Motor Service Co. for 27 years and retired from Crown Equipment Corp. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and American Legion Post 323, both of St. Marys, a Third Degree Knights of Columbus member, a 1945 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School and a U.S. Navy veteran who graduated from officer training school in Columbus.
   Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Revs. Leo Hoying and James Byrne officiating. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys.
   Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.
   Contributions can be made to the church.


Charles Buschor

Former Coldwater resident Charles L. Buschor, 55, of Eustis, Fla., died April 2, 2005, in Eustis of injuries sustained in a traffic accident.
   He was born Aug. 19, 1968, in Coldwater, to Joe Buschor and Rose Buschor Schieltz. His mother and stepfather, Harold Schieltz, survive in Coldwater.
   Also surviving are two sons, Joe and Mike, both of Eustis, and a brother, John of Huber Heights.
   The body was cremated and graveside services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
   Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater, has charge of arrangements.


Lucille Crow

Lucille Crow, 95, of Neptune, died early today, May 4, 2005, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
   Arrangements are pending at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.


Rev. Frank Hamblen

Rev. Frank R. Hamblen, 91, of Elida, died at 10:33 a.m. May 2, 2005, at Lima Convalescent Home.
   He was born Sept. 1, 1913, in Chattanooga, Tenn., to Gilbert Rankin and Carrie Lee Smith Hamblen. On April 10, 1938, he married Erdine Roberts who died Jan. 26, 1957. On May 18, 1958, he married Mary Jane Armitage Augsburger who survives.
   Also surviving are four sons, David A. (Laurie) of Easley, S.C., John R. (Barbara) of Naples, Fla., Rev. D. Keith (Linda) of Lima, and Stephen P. (Cindy) of Greenville, S.C.; two daughters, Ruth F. (Roy) Hollenbacher and Janis G. Grover, both of Lima; a sister, Margaret Chalberg, Victorville, Calif.; 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
   Two brothers, Alan and Avery, are deceased.
   He served churches in St. Marys, Columbus Grove, Sidney, Lima and Indiana before helping to establish Calvary Bible Church, Lima, in 1960 and Lima Christian Academy in 1970. Ordained Sept. 1, 1939, in Bowling Green, he graduated from Moody Bible Institute, Bluffton College and United Theological Seminary. He was former president of the Lima Area Fundamental Ministers Association and Christian Schools of Ohio and member emeritus of Buckeye Christian Schools Board of Directors.
   Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Calvary Bible Church, Lima, the Rev. Keith Hamblen officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Elida.
   Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Contributions can be made to Lima Christian Academy.
   Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, has charge of arrangements.


Ruth Hill

Ruth A. Hill, 81, of Decatur, Ind., died at 5:48 a.m. May 3, 2005, at Adams County Memorial Hospital, Decatur.
   She was born Dec. 31, 1923, in Richmond, Ind., to Frank and Bessie Cleo Ribkee. Her husband, Marvin Kedron Eugene Hill, died in 1988.
   Surviving are a son, Calvin (CynthiaLee) of Indianapolis; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
   Deceased are a brother, Neal Berry, and a grandson.
   She retired from General Electric, Decatur, and was a homemaker.
   Services are 10 a.m. Friday at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, the Rev. Anthony Stidam officiating. Burial will follow at Six Mile Cemetery, Bluffton, Ind.
   Calling is 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
   Contributions can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.


Jennie Hole

Jennie L. Hole, 66, of Celina, died May 3, 2005, at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home, Spencerville.
   Arrangements are pending at W. H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina.


Victor Lampy

Mendon native Victor D. Lampy, 88, of Fort Worth, Texas, died May 2, 2005, in Fort Worth.
   He was born June 1, 1916, in Mendon, to C.W. and Ada Wright Lampy. On Aug. 28, 1942, he married Alzada Bland who is deceased.
   Surviving are a son, Gilbert of Fort Worth; and a number of nieces and nephews, all of New Bremen.
   Deceased are a son, Larry Joe; a daughter, Vicky; and a sister, Vivian Boroff.
   A veteran of World War II and the Korean and Vietnam wars, he retired as a chief master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force after 30 years of service. He was a 1934 graduate of Mendon Union High School.
   Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Laurel Land Chapel of Chimes, Fort Worth. Burial will follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park.
   Calling is 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.


Charles Schmidt

Charles M. Schmidt, 79, of Coldwater, died May 3, 2005, at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater. Burial will be at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
   Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Iola Schuck

Iola "Pat" R. Schuck, 94, 910 N. Walnut St., Celina, died at 8:40 p.m. May 2, 2005, at the Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.
   She was born Dec. 1, 1910, in Celina, to Carl and Blanche West Buck. On May 15, 1948, she married Frank Schuck who died Dec. 20, 1976.
   Surviving are a brother, Carl Jr. (Norma) Buck, Celina; two sisters, Berniece Germann, Rockford, and Marjorie Miesse, Celina; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Buck, Celina.
   Deceased are three brothers, Herschel Leo, Leondis Cleadon and Donald Melvin Buck, and three sisters, Beatrice Miller, Mildred Willrath and Burnice Pauline Buck.
   She was a homemaker and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina.
   Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Lehman Funeral Home, the Rev. Richard Riedel officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Celina.
   Calling is 9-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
   Contributions can be made to the Mercer County Civic Foundation.
