Margaret Sims

Margaret "Peggy" Sims, 84, of Albany, Ind., died May 18, 2005, at Muncie Health Care, Muncie, Ind.
   She was born July 29, 1920, in Randolph County, Ind., to Jesse and Blanche Manning. On Dec. 20, 1941, she married Howard Sims who is deceased.
   Surviving are a daughter, Nancy Sims-Bartlett, Ponce Inlet, Fla.; a brother, William (Connie) Manning, Geneva, Ind.; six sisters, Louise Bosworth, Albany, Maxine (Fred) Murphy and Wanda (Bill) Pyle, all of Celina, Naomi Mann, Portland, Ind., Jean (Harold) Smith, Geneva, Ind., and Nadean Macwhinney, Columbus; and three grandchildren.
   Deceased are three brothers, Merritt, James and Robert Manning, and two sisters, Mary Evon Manning and Eileen McCreery.
   She served as dining service supervisor for 26 years at Ball State University, Muncie.
   Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Garden View Funeral Home, Muncie, with burial to follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
   Calling is after 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
   Contributions can be made to the Animal Relief Fund.


Burton Waxler

Burton J. "Burt" Waxler, 77, of Lima, died at 4:16 p.m. May 18, 2005, at Lima Memorial Health Systems.
   He was born Jan. 5, 1928, in Findlay, to Burton Bruce and Dorothy Pearl Hughes Waxler. On May 31, 1947, he married Frances Louise Oexle who survives.
   Also surviving are three sons, David and Dennis, both of Findlay, and Dana (Bonnie) of Celina; two daughters, Jill (Richard) Warren, Pandora, and Jana of Lima; a brother, Bill (Margie) of Findlay; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
   A retired machinist, he had worked at General Dynamics, Sheller-Globe and Warner-Swasey, all of Lima, and Stolle Corp., Sidney. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Christ Church Episcopal and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370, both of Lima.
   No services are planned.
   Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville, has charge of arrangements.
   Contributions can be made to the Salvation Army.
