Frederick Foote Frederick P. Foote, 65, of Wapakoneta, died at 2:20 p.m. June 5, 2005, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born Aug. 30, 1939, in Rochester, N.Y., to William E. and Ann Wright Foote. His mother survives in North Olmsted. On Aug. 11, 1962, he married Ruth Anne Humbert who survives. Also surviving are a son, Gregory S. (Dayna) of Cincinnati; two daughters, Sue Anne (Donovan) Widney, St. Marys, and Cynthia Anne (Red) Wood, Spencerville; two brothers, Alan (Laurie) and William Jr. (Linda), towns not provided; four sisters, Judy (Phillip) Hepkema, Marjorie Andrews, Nina Harvey and Carolyn (Don) Dooley, towns not provided; and nine grandchildren. A secondary and post secondary teacher, he had owned and operated Foote Marine in Wapakoneta. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve for 37 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Wapakoneta, a member and past president of the Midwestern Ohio Industrial Arts Association, Lions Club International and Kiwanis of Wapakoneta, and current president of Southmoor Shores Association, St. Marys. He also had served as a 4-H judge at county and state levels. Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, Pastor G. Richard Bell officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, Wapakoneta, and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Helen M. Slemmons, 82, formerly of 1022 Williams St., St. Marys, died at 12:32 a.m. June 6, 2005, at Colonial Nursing Home, Rockford. She was born Oct. 10, 1922, in St. Marys, to Stanley and Esther Nunnery McDonald. On June 26, 1937, she married Hershel Slemmons who died May 28, 1982. Surviving are four daughters, Patty (Robert) Adams, Celina, Sandra (Robert) Deerhake, New Knoxville, Suzie (Ken) Ankerman, St. Marys, and Chris (Dennis) Krauss, San Antonio, Texas; a half brother, Patrick Nunnery, no town listed; 19 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Mary McDonald and Arlene Cummings, are deceased. She had been employed at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in St. Marys for 30 years. Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Bill Maki officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
