James O. Rowen, 76, 707 Lake Ave., St. Marys, died at 12:53 p.m. June 13, 2005, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. He was born Oct. 2, 1928, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to Carl and Martha O'Dell Rowen. On Aug. 10, 1948, he married Jo Baker who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Jim (Neva) of St. Marys and Charles (Theresa) of New Knoxville; four daughters, Barbara (Robert) Kovar, Celina, Deborah (Gary) Orr and Kelly (Neil) Pfenning, all of St. Marys, and Melinda of Waynesfield; two brothers, Estill Patton and Herman Rowen, no town listed; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Deceased are two brothers, Harry Burns and Maurice Patton, and three sisters, Norma Frazier, Mildred Burkholder and Sally Miller. He owned the former Rowen's Cafeteria and the Equity Dairy Store in St. Marys, sold real estate with Klosterman Realty and retired from JTDM Hospital, where he had worked in materials management for 13 years. A graduate of Lima South High School, he was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 767, both of St. Marys, and the Loyal Order of Moose, Celina. Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Bill Maki officiating. Calling is 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys. Janice I. Zink, 86, of Dayton, died at 9:15 a.m. June 12, 2005, at Mercy Sienna Retirement Community, Dayton. She was born March 23, 1919, in Dayton, to Joseph and Ione Hoyne Winegardner. On July 16, 1944, she married Roy L. Zink who died Feb. 13, 1983. Surviving are a son, the Rev. David L. Zink, pastor of St. Louis Catholic Church in North Star and St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Osgood, and a niece. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and Mercy Sienna Chapel, both of Dayton. Memorial Mass is 7 p.m. Thursday at the North Star church, with her son as one of the con-celebrants. In keeping with her wishes, the body was donated to the Wright State University College of Medicine. Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster, has charge of local arrangements, |
