Mary Booher Mary Maxine Booher, 82, 1506 Meadowview Drive, Celina, died July 9, 2005, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater. She was born Nov. 20, 1922, in Wapakoneta, to David and Bessie Lusk Decoursey. On May 6, 1951, she married Robert L. Booher who survives. Also surviving are a son, Steve (Nancy) of Celina; two granddaughters and two nephews. A brother, Dean Decoursey, is deceased. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Celina. Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Steve Moulton officiating. Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens. Carl Ray Copeland, 85, 2905 Hillcrest Dr., died at 8:30 p.m. July 6, 2005 at Colonial Nursing Home. He was born May 29, 1920 in Center Township to Purn and Rhoda Newcomb Copeland. On June 26, 1942, he married Anita Bolenbaugh, who survives in Celina. Also surviving are two sons, William (Ruth), Fort Wayne, Ind. and Barry (Lois), Huber Heights; two sisters, Mae Rogers, California and Hazel (Wayne) Fireoved, Mendon; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Deceased are a daughter, Bonnie Hullinger; a brother, Robert; and four sisters, Nellie Markley Miles, Mary Foster, Alberta Schock and Grace Now. He was a member of American legion Post 508, Eagles Aerie 1291, both of Rockford, and the Celina Moose Lodge. He retired from the U. S. Postal Service after 33 years, where he worked as a carrier on Rockford's rural route two. He served in the U.S. Army from 1941-1943. Services were 11 a.m. today at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Robert Metheny officiated. Burial followed at Mercer Memory Gardens, where graveside military honors were conducted by the American Legion posts of Celina and Rockford and Veterans of Foreign Wars post of Celina. Luella J. Homan, 86, 421 state Route 29, Celina, died July 9, 2005, at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born July 6, 1919, in Celina, to Christian and Elizabeth Eischen Homan. Surviving are a sister, Anna Marie of Celina; a sister-in-law, Esther Homan, St. Henry; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two brothers, Walter and Wilfred, and a sister, Madonna. She retired as a shipping clerk at Mersman Brothers Inc., Celina, and was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and its Altar Sodality, both of St. Anthony. She graduated in 1938 from Immaculate Conception High School, Celina. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Surviving are a brother, Robert (Patricia) of St. Marys, and a nephew, Floyd of Mendon. Deceased are a brother, Floyd Nelson Jr.; a sister, Betty Jean McMillen; and a nephew, Tony. She retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., St. Marys, where she had worked 37 years as office manager. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 9289, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 323 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary 767, all of St. Marys. She attended Zion Lutheran Church, also of St. Marys. Services are 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Steven Bell officiating. Helen Pauline Shaffer, 88, of Rockford, died at 11:30 a.m. June 30, 2005, at Laurels of Shane Hill nursing home in Rockford. She was born July 27, 1916, in Van Wert, to Frank and Bessie Brown Krugh. On Dec. 25, 1936, she married Vergil Shaffer who survives. Other survivors are a son, Marvin (Vickie) of Galena; a daughter, Carolyn (Roger) Jamieson, Van Wert; a sister, Mae Piper, Hamilton; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Deceased are two infant brothers and a grandson. She was a 1932 graduate of Ohio City-Liberty High School. She was a secretary, homemaker and helped run the family farm. She was a member of Ohio City Church of God and had attended Olive Branch Church of God and Calvary Evangelical Church.
