William Houser William R. Houser, 72, 7667 Shelley Road, Mendon, died at 11:47 p.m. July 25, 2005, at the Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford. He was born Aug. 29, 1932, in Mercer County, to Clarence and Lavon Burden Houser. On June 30, 1951, he married Mary Kathryn Washburn who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Robert E. (Donna M.) of Celina and Stephen L. (Sandra L.) of Mendon; a son-in-law, Paul Binkley, Spencerville; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Other survivors include four brothers, Jim (Thelma) of Mendon, Dick (Connie) of Van Wert, Larry (Betty) of Rockford, and Darryl of Celina; and four sisters, Virginia Strukamp, Rockford, Dorothy Goodwin, St. Marys, Esther of Celina, and Roberta (Harry) Long, Ohio City. Deceased are a daughter, Patricia Binkley, and two sisters, Beatrice Houser and Mary Lu Roby. He retired after 42 years at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., St. Marys, and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Mendon, the Veterans of Foreign Wars post, Spencerville, and West Ohio Fish & Game Club, St. Marys. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Randy Christian officiating. Burial will follow at Mendon Cemetery. Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Helen Eudora Taylor, 91, a resident of Shanes Village, Rockford, formerly of Mendon, died July 25, 2005, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. She was born June 26, 1914, in Pleasant Mills, Ind., to Otley Otis and Harriet Redella Goodwin Rice. On Dec. 27, 1941, she married Merle Allen Taylor who died April 1, 1988. Surviving are a sister, Dolores Jerome, Dayton; three nephews and two nieces. Deceased are two brothers, Marvin Ellis and Willis Leland; a sister, Martha Caroline Harden; and two nephews. She was a former farm manager and a member of Mendon First Church of God. Services are 4 p.m. Thursday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Mendon, the Rev. Dean Bruce officiating. Burial will follow at Mendon Cemetery. Calling is 2-4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. |
