Paul Alexander

Paul E. Alexander, 73, Schroeder Road, St. Marys, died at 9:22 a.m. Aug. 4, 2005, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
   He was born June 4, 1932, in Troy, to Steven F. and Pauline Nicodemus Alexander.
   Surviving are a son, Robert (Audrey) of Sidney; two brothers, Russell of Tipp City and Joseph of Vandalia; two sisters, Betty Ostendorf, New Carlisle, and Arlene of Troy; two granddaughters and eight great-grandchildren.
   Deceased is a brother, Victor, and a sister, Nancy Higbee.
   A retired heavy equipment operator, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Korea, and was a member of the Tipp City Masonic Lodge, Fraternal Order of Eagles, St. Marys, Antioch Shrine and Scottish Rite of Dayton, the Newport Sportsman's Club and the Loyal Order of Moose and American Legion post, both of Celina.
   Private services are planned.
   Funeral arrangements are being handled by Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
   Contributions can be made to the Shriners Hospital, Cincinnati.


Daniel Rindler

Daniel "Dan" Joseph Rindler, 15, of Covington, died Aug. 3, 2005, of injuries sustained in a moped-semitrailer accident that occurred at 12:40 p.m. on state Route 48 near Covington.
   He was born Feb. 19, 1990, in Piqua, to Kevin Joseph and Kim Ann Pleiman Rindler who survive.
   Also surviving are two sisters, Rachael Ann and Jennifer Frances, both at home; grandparents Janice Rindler, Burkettsville, and Linda Pleiman and Larry Pleiman, both of Yorkshire; and great-grandparents, Herman J. Hoying, Agnes Rindler and Stella Piekenbrock, all of Coldwater.
   Deceased is a grandfather, Jerry Rindler.
   An employee of Pleiman Construction and a summer lawn care worker at Arens Corp. in Covington, he would have been a sophomore at Covington High School in the fall, where he served as class vice president, lettered in track and football, played freshman basketball, maintained honor roll ranking and served on the Student Council. He was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Covington, where he was a Mass server and youth ministry member.
   Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Troy, the Revs. Mark Hoying, Jim Simons and James Duell officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, Covington.
   Calling is 2-8 p.m. today at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington.
   Contributions can be made to the Dan Rindler Memorial Fund.


William Shaner

William F. Shaner, 88, 7712 state Route 219, Montezuma, died at 4:40 a.m. today, Aug. 5, 2005, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
   Funeral arrangements are pending at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina.


Orville Stammen

Orville L. "Pete" Stammen, 77, 412 Kremer-Hoying Road, St. Henry, died today, Aug. 5, 2005, at his home.
   Funeral arrangements are pending at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.


Vicki Wenning

Former Coldwater resident Vicki Maren Wenning, 56, 4872 Four Winds Drive N., Keizer, Ore., died at 8:19 p.m. Aug. 3, 2005, at an Oregon hospital following a sudden illness.
   Funeral services are pending at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Home, Salem, Ore.
