Viola Baumer

Viola A. Baumer, 83, of Minster, died at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 9, 2005, at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton.
   She was born Dec. 29, 1921, near Minster, to Henry and Agnes Heitkamp Baumer.
   Surviving are a sister, Pauline Busse, Minster; three nephews, six nieces and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
   Deceased are three brothers, Lawrence, Leander and Julius; a sister, Corrine Mangen; and a brother-in-law, Albert Busse.
   She was a homemaker and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster.
   Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Rick Nieberding officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
   Calling is 6-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-9:30 a.m. Friday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen.


Joseph Dominik

Joseph R. Dominik. 89, 309 Dogwood Drive, Celina, died at 9:23 p.m. Aug. 8, 2005, in the Miller House, Celina.
   He was born Jan. 2, 1916, in Sierakow, Poland, to Stephen and Agnes Pluskotta Dominik. On July 12, 1947, he married Ingeborg Richter who survives.
   Also surviving are three sons, Christian (Karen) of Bonita Springs, Fla., Patrick (Elizabeth) of New Albany, Ind., and Mark (Jane) of St. Marys; a daughter, Linda (Robert) Andrews, Westerville; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A brother and a sister are deceased.
   He retired as an executive at Avco New Idea, Coldwater, and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and a charter member of Mercer County Elks Lodge 2170, both of Celina.
   Memorial Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Richard Riedel officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Celina.
   Calling is after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
   Contributions can be made to Celina Area Visiting Nurses or the I.C. Endowment Fund.
   Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, has charge of arrangements.


Ned Shelby

Ned E. Shelby, 77, formerly of St. Marys, died Aug. 2, 2005, in Fort Myers, Fla.
   Arrangements are pending at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.
