Bernard Bruns

Bernard A. "Barney" Bruns, 92, formerly of 271 Maple St., St. Henry, died at 12:35 p.m. Aug. 12, 2005, at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater.
   He was born May 30, 1913, in St. Henry, to Wiliam F. and Rose Uhlenhake Bruns. On Aug. 19, 1947, he married Armella Wendeln who died Sept. 20, 1996.
   Surviving are two sons, Frederick (Deborah) of Englewood and Michael (Candice) of Rushsylvania; three brothers, Wilfred (Alvera) of Winterhaven, Fla., Owen (Betty) of Brookville and Eugene (Eileen) of Burkettsville; two sisters, Eileen Braun, Kettering, and Pat (Roger) Niekamp, St. Henry; a sister-in-law, Agnes Bruns, Maria Stein; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
   Deceased are a stepmother, Clara Kaiser Bruns; a brother, Stanley; a sister, Loneta Hickey; and a brother-in-law, Stanley Braun.
   He had been a barber for more than 60 years primarily in St. Henry and also in Celina and Greenville. He also worked as a cabinet maker for Kessler Builders in Celina and was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, where he had served as an usher, and St. Henry American Legion Post 648. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a 4-H advisor for 40 years.
   Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Larry Wyen officiating. Burial will follow at the cemetery with the Legion conducting military rites.
   Calling is 2-8 p.m. today and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.


Ardith Felver

Ardith Felver, 85, of Celina, died at 8:25 p.m. Aug. 12, 2005, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
   She was born Feb. 7, 1920, in Wyoming, Ill., to Clifford and Edwana Crone Steer. On June 3, 1946, she married Duane I. Sawmiller who died June 9, 1959. On May 25, 1962, she married Donald Felver who survives.
   Also surviving are a son, David Sawmiller, Beavercreek; a daughter, Carol (Richard) Gaulrapp, Ann Arbor, Mich.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
   Two brothers and a sister are deceased.
   She had worked as a nurse's aid at the former Otis Hospital and retired in 1980 from Huffy Manufacturing, both of Celina. She served in the U.S. Women's Army Medical Corps during World War II and was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 210 and the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 91, all of Celina. She served on the Selective Service Board, Mercer County Zoning Board and was a Mercer County Veterans Services officer.
   Memorial services are 3 p.m. Thursday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Robert Metheny officiating. Burial will follow at North Grove Cemetery with the honor guard from the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts conducting military rites.
   Calling is after 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
   Contributions can be made to the American Red Cross.


Robert Honchul

Robert L. Honchul, 19, 244 Lakeview Drive, Celina, was killed Aug. 14, 2005, in a Mercer County traffic accident.
   See story on Page One.
   He was born Oct. 17, 1985, in Middletown. His parents, Terry and Chastity Honchul of Celina and Marie Hammond of Middletown, survive.
   Also surviving are a son, Skyler of Dayton; a brother, Justin of Trenton; three sisters, Brittany Creech and Briana of Celina, and Vanessa Fields, no town listed; grandparents, Amy Hicks, Jane Honchul, Brenda and Gary Carder and Bill and Mamie Honchul, all of Middletown; and great-grandparents, John and Martha Deaton, Gratis.
   Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Allen Brown officiating.
   Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.


Ruby Roebuck

Ruby W. Roebuck, 79, 213 Jon St., Mendon, died at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 13, 2005, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.
   She was born Aug. 21, 1926, in Marion, to Charles and Edith Cress Craven. On May 18, 1947, she married F. Lee Roebuck who died Jan. 1, 1994.
   Surviving are a son, Steven W. (Sherry J.) of Rockford; and three granddaughters.
   A brother, James Craven, is deceased.
   She had worked as a bookkeeper at the Motor Inn in Mercer for 25 years. She was a member of the First Church of God and the Women's Civic Club, both of Mendon.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Mendon, Pastor Dean Bruce officiating. Burial will follow at Tomlinson Cemetery, Rockford.
   Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
   Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.


Robert Schwaberow

Robert F. Schwaberow, 88, formerly of 1409 Knoxville Ave., St. Marys, died at 5:55 a.m. Aug. 14, 2005, at Valley Nursing Home, St. Marys.
   Arrangements are pending at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.
