Norma Dean

Services for former Celina resident Norma Jones Dean, 84, 24552 Paseo de Valencia, Mission Viejo, Calif., are 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Celina, the Rev. Robert Metheny officiating. Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens.
   Calling is after 10 a.m. Friday at the church.
   Contributions can be made to the Appalachia Service Project.
   She died at 6:50 a.m. July 9, 2005, at B.B. Country Manor in Mission Viejo.
   Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, has charge of local arrangements.


Clifford Eichenauer

Clifford T. Eichenauer, 92, 3687 Schleucher Road, Celina, died at 5:05 a.m. Aug. 23, 2005, at the Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.
   He was born June 30, 1913, in Mercer County, to Roy and Iva Albin Eichenauer. On June 14, 1939, he married Martha L. Counterman who died Sept. 28, 1996.
   Surviving are a foster daughter, Shellie Kale (Jay) Burden, Fort Wayne, Ind.; a brother, Lisle of Celina; a sister, Florence Wurster, Celina; three foster grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
   A brother, Kenneth, and an infant sister, Mildred, are deceased.
   A retired farmer, he owned Eichenauer Insurance Agency for several years. He was a charter member of Grace Missionary Church, Celina, where he had been a board member for 40 years and treasurer for 38 years. He also was a member of the Council of 100 at Taylor University, Fort Wayne, Ind.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, Pastor Bruce Head officiating. Burial will follow at Buck Cemetery near Celina.
   Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina.
   Contributions can be made to the Eichenauer Scholarship at Taylor University or the church.


LuAnne Haffey

Former Celina resident LuAnne Marie Haffey, 47, South Portland, Maine, died at 2:48 a.m. July 13, 2005, at Maine Medical Center, South Portland. Death was due to cancer.
   She was born Sept. 28, 1957, to Wilbur and Judith Balderson Haffey.
   Surviving are a brother, Larry D. (Pamela), Celina; two sisters, Tamara J. Boess and Ria C. (Robert) Schroeder, also of Celina; two nephews, five nieces and a great-nephew.
   A 1975 Celina High School graduate, she also graduated from the University of Maine at Augusta, Hixson's School of Floral Design, Cleveland, and Southern Maine Technical College, South Portland. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Celina.
   Services were July 17 at Vesper Hill Children's Chapel, Rockport, Maine.
   Memorial services are 1 p.m. Sunday at the Celina church.


Esther Elking

Chickasaw native Esther D. Elking, 73, of Columbus, died Aug. 22, 2005, at Kobacker House (HomeReach Hospice), Columbus.
   She was born April 16, 1932, in Chickasaw, to Henry and Lauretta Winner Bills.
   Surviving with Robert Elking, her husband of 47 years, are two sons, David (Marlisa) of Memphis, N.Y., and Rob (Anita) of Columbus; a daughter, Laura (Rick) Germann, Columbus; two brothers, Walt (Vera) Bills, Concord, Va., and Paul Bills, Celina; two sisters, Norma (Bud) Swink, Minster, and Barbara (Dave) Smith, Roanoke, Va.; three grandchildren and three stepgrandchildren.
   She formerly worked at Reynolds & Reynolds Co., Celina, R.J. Bardon (Kwik Kopy) and Sawmill Athletic Club, Columbus. She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, the Women's Club of the church, the church golf league and the Sycamore Hills Bowling League, all of Columbus. She was a former member of the Chickasaw Chicks Fast Pitch Softball Team.
   Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Steve Seever officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
   Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, Columbus, where a 7:30 p.m. prayer service is planned.
   Contributions can be made to HomeReach Hospice (Kobacher House).
