Thomas Durnell

Thomas A. Durnell, 75, 06880 Idlewild Road, Celina, died at 4 p.m. Sept. 11, 2005, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
   He was born Dec. 28, 1929, in St. Marys, to Paul A. and Bernadette M. Vanderhorst Durnell. On May 4, 1955, he married Doris J. Inderrieden, who survives.
   Also surviving are two sons, Thomas Paul of Philadelphia, Pa., and John (Suzanne) of Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.; four daughters, Catherine (Peter) Durnell-Cramton, Bethesda, Md., Colleen (Scott) Gilmour, Dallas, Texas, Maureenof Long Beach, Calif. Bridget (Lawrence) Mauro, Palos Verdes Estates; a sister-in-law Betty Durnell, St. Marys; and seven grandchildren.
   A brother, David, is deceased.
   A certified gemologist and a graduate of Elgin Watchmaker's School and the Gemological Institute of America, he began working in the family business Durnell & Sons Jewelers in St. Marys at the age of 14 and later assumed ownership.
   He was aU.S. Army vetern having served during the Korean Conflict and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 1492 and the Outing Club (Idlewild), all of St. Marys.
   Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Anthony E. Cutcher officiating. Burial with graveside military rites performed by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9289 will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys.
   Calling is 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.
   Contributions may be made to the Rev. James O. Byrne Seminarian Fund or the Friends of Holy Rosary Church and School.


Harold Wollam

Harold E. "Bud" Wollam, 89, 3601 state Route 703, Celina, died at 8:45 a.m. Sept. 11, 2005, at the Miller House, Celina.
   He was born June 23, 1916, in Celina, to George s. and Ruth E. Hale Wollam. On Nov. 24, 1938, he married Laura C. Olding who died Aug. 24, 1996.
   Surviving are three daughters, Barbara (Joe) Lersky and Jane (Dave) Kunk, all of Celina, and Kathy (Steve) Ford, Lima; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
   Deceased are an infant daughter, Marlyn; and two sisters, Marge Baer and Lyndol Orrison.
   He was a retired truck driver for Subler Trucking, Versailles, and also worked at Beatrice Foods, New Bremen. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1473, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1291, Veterans of Foreign War Post 5713 and American Legion Post 210, all of Celina. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
   Services are 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Randy Christian officiating. Burial is at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Celina.
   Calling is 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
   Contributions can be made to State of the Heart Home Health & Hospice.


Sue Ann Ballinger

Services for Sue Ann Ballinger were Sept. 3, 2005, at Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Robert A. Loar officiated.
   Organist was Carol Zimmerman.
   Pallbearers to North Grove Cemetery, Celina, were Brian, Aaron, Kyle and Johnathan Ballinger, Nathan Hans and Collin Schmidt.


Robert Honchul

Service for Robert L. Honchul were Aug. 18, 2005, at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Allen Brown officiated.
   Pallbearers to North Grove Cemetery, Celina, were Alex Hirn, Brandon Barker, Mike Gillis, Mike McLeland, Joey Cornett and Josh Hart.
