Norma Bensman Norma C. Bensman, 92, Renee Drive, Minster, died at 8:45 p.m. Sept. 23, 2005, at Dorothy Love Retirement Community, Sidney. She was born Sept. 13, 1913, in McCartyville, to Louis and Rose Meyer Bornhorst. On Sept. 1, 1936, she married Leo J. Bensman who died May 4, 1965. Surviving are a son, Mell (Marcia) of Fort Loramie; three daughters, Joan Dues, Coldwater, Linda (Gerald) Franck, Tipp City, and Betty (Ron) Gaerke, Minster; a daughter-in-law, Evelyn of McCartyville; four brothers, Ralph (Madeline), Paul and Ray (Doris), all of McCartyville, and Homer (Mary Lou) of Fort Loramie; four sisters, Eileen Borchers, Fort Lormie, Martha (Dick) Borchers, Russia, Verona (Elmer) Poppelman, New Bremen, and Dorothy Combs, West Union, Ky.; a brother-in-law, Richard Brown, Wapakoneta; a sister-in-law, Helen Bornhorst, Fort Loramie; 16 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren. Deceased are a son, Donald; a son-in-law, Orville Dues; two brothers; a sister; and a great-grandchild. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, McCartyville, and its Rosary and Altar Sodality. She was a member of the Knights of St. John Auxiliary, Fort Loramie. Funeral mass is 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Gerald Bensman officiating. Burial is at St. Patrick Cemetery. Marilee K. Besanceney, 78, 13 Haarbye St., New Bremen, died 3:20 p.m., Sept. 23, 2005, at Otterbein of St. Marys. She was born April 1, 1927, in New Bremen, to Leo F. and Mae Miller Sunderman. Surviving are four sons, William J. of Pittsburgh, Penn., Mark F. of New Bremen, Christian of Knoxville, Tenn., and John R. of California, Md.; two daughters, Mary Errand, Lafayette, Ore., and Jean of San Francisco, Calif.; and four grandchildren. Deceased is a son, Timothy. She was a nurse and homemaker. Funeral Mass was today at the Church of the Holy Redeemer, New Bremen, the Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiated. Gladys B. Friedly, 92, Rockford, died at 1:35 a.m. Sept. 24, 2005, at Lakeland Nursing Center, Angola, Ind. She was born Feb. 1, 1913, in Memphis, Tenn., to John Andrew and Alvina Derr Kimmel. She married Verl D. Friedly, who died May 1, 2000. Surviving are two sons, the Rev. Don (Janet) of Annadale, Va., and Tom of Delaware; three daughters, Pat (Wilmer) Iler, Angola, Ind., Suzanne (Don) Dudgeon, Tampa, Fla., and Jane (Carl) Wilson, Potomac, Md.; a sister, Geraldine (Jerome) Koch, Englewood; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren. Deceased are two sisters and a great-grandchild. She was a homemaker. She was a charter member of the Rockford United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school and Bible school teacher. Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, the Rev. Donald Friedly officiating. The Revs. Don Dudgeon, Steve Williams and Mike Berne will also be participating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford. Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour before services at the funeral home.
