Roger Heath

Roger David Heath, 72, of Van Wert, was killed at 3:45 p.m. Oct. 19, 2005, in a motorcycle accident in Crawford County, Ind.
   He was born April 25, 1933, in Van Wert County, to James M. Sr. and Ruth Elizabeth Nelson Heath. On July 17, 1955, he married Mildred F. Gamble, who died March, 16, 2002.
   Surviving are a son, Kevin (Julie) of Willshire; three daughters, Laurie and Lisa Heath and Stacie (Kyle) Pollock, all of Van Wert; a brother, William N. (Muriel) of Sidney; a sister-in-law, Evelyn L. of Van Wert; and four grandchildren.
   Deceased is a brother, James Mounts Heath Jr.
   He worked at several factories and service-related jobs in Van Wert. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a volunteer driver for the Veterans Administration. A 1951 graduate of York High School, he was a member of Kingsley United Methodist Church, Ohio City, First Families of Ohio and York Township, the BMW Owners Association and American Motorcycle Association.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Revs. Chuck Glover and Clarence Owsley officiating. Burial is at Tomlinson Cemetery in Union Township near Mendon.
   Calling is 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert.
   Contributions can be made to the Veterans Administration.


Mildred Van Schoyck

Mildred Van Schoyck, 85, 800 Indiana Ave., St. Marys, died at 11:27 a.m. Oct. 19, 2005, at Valley Nursing Home, St. Marys.
   She was born Oct. 13, 1920, in Hardin County, to John and Henrietta Moore Underwood. On Feb. 25, 1939, she married William D. Van Schoyck, who died Jan. 3, 1993.
   Survivors are two sons, William (Karma) of Celina, and Nicholas (Frances) of St. Marys; two daughters, Joyce (William) Johnson, St. Marys, and Margaret (Dale) Wiehe, Celina; two sisters, Ruth Alkire, Marysville, and Evelyn (Elsworth) Holden, Cleveland.
   Deceased are two brothers, Nelson and Williard Underwood, and two sisters, Clarice McManemey and Emily Bachman.
   She was a homemaker and had served as a poll worker for the Auglaize County Board of Elections. She was a member of Wayne Street United Methodist Church, St. Marys, where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.
   Graveside services are 1 p.m. Monday at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys, the Rev. Ed Groff, officiating.
   Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, has charge of arrangements.
