Jennifer Barnett

Rockford native Jennifer Lynne Barnett, 28, of Dayton, died at 2:30 a.m. Nov. 3, 2005, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton, from injuries received in a motorcycle accident.
   She was born March 16, 1977, in Van Wert to John L. Barnett and Barbara Barnett Decker. Her father survives in Dayton and her mother survives in Rockford.
   Also surviving are two brothers, John (Julie), Wapakoneta, and Shawn, Rockford; two stepbrothers, Randy (Pam) Decker of Mercer, and Todd (Sherry) Decker of Celina; a stepsister, Julie Jones of Decatur, Ind.; a grandmother, Francis Barnett of Trotwood; and stepgrandmother, Esther Buel of Rockford.
   Deceased is a stepfather, James Edward Decker.
   She was a waitress at several restaurants in the Dayton area. She was baptized at Calvary Evangelical Church of Van Wert and was a 1995 graduate of Beavercreek High School, where she was in band. She participated in track during seventh and eighth grades at Parkway schools, Rockford.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at New Horizons Church, Rockford, the Rev. Robert Loar officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
   Calling is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, and after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Irene Smith

Irene L. Smith, 92, resident of the Pavilion, Sidney, died at 11:50 p.m. Nov. 2, 2005.
   She was born Dec. 2, 1912, in Versailles to John and Cora York Frantz. She married Robert R. Smith Sr., who died Nov. 21, 1998.
   Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Barbara Smith, Celina; four grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren.
   Deceased are a son, Robert; two brothers, Art and Roy Frantz; and a sister, Gertrude Goffena.
   She owned and operated the Smokehouse Restaurant, Sidney, until the 1950s; was a homemaker; and volunteered for the city of Sidney. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sidney.
   Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Gerald E. Bensman officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney.
   Calling is 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Adams Funeral Home, Sidney.
