Joan Mary Werling, 71, Houston Road, Houston, died at 9:40 a.m. Nov. 20, 2005, at Fair Haven Shelby County Home, Sidney. She was born June 4, 1934, in Maria Stein, to Joseph and Rose Knob Berning. On Oct. 8, 1955, she married Eugene Werling, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Jonathan (Leslie) of Fort Loramie, Kenneth of Troy, and Scott of Minster; a brother, Urban (Lucille) Berning, Maria Stein; two sisters, Velma (Andy) Hemmelgarn, St. Henry, and Irene (John) Gardener, Dayton; and six grandchildren. Deceased are three brothers and a sister. She was a homemaker and farmer. She retired from Copeland Corporation and the Auto-Kraft Box Factory. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of Fort Loramie, Copeland Retirees and Sidney Senior Center. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Interment of the creamains will be at the convenience of the family in the church cemetery. Calling is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Gehret Funeral Home, Fort Loramie. Vernon C. Winhoven, 66, 911 N. Seventh St., Coldwater, died at 9 a.m. Nov. 18, 2005, at Hospice of Dayton. He was born May 15, 1939, in Coldwater, to John M. and Marie Buschur Winhoven. Survivors are a brother, Harold of Coldwater; and three sisters, Marita (William) Mattingly, Coldwater, Rosella of Celina, and Mary Ann (John) Steinbrunner, Coldwater . Deceased are three brothers, Ralph, Virgil and Paul. He was retired from the service department of Werling's Motors of Coldwater. Private services will be held at the family's convience. Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home are handling arrangements. |
