Edward Amerman Edward V. Amerman, 79, of Van Wert, died at 6:46 a.m. Nov.29, 2005, at his residence following a brief illness. He was born Feb. 22, 1926, in Mercer County, to William F. and Bessie M. Watson Amerman. On Sept. 27, 1947, he married Maxine L. Wallick, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Mark L. (Sharon L.) of San Leon, Texas; a daughter, Diane K. (Eric A.) Couch, Van Wert; a sister, Ada Ruth (Cletus) Klosterman, Celina; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Deceased are a brother, Robert Nelson Amerman; and three sisters, Marion Alice Harner, Lois Francis Baker and Bessie June Wait. He retired in 1984, after 38 years, at Continental Forest Industies Company (Greif Bros.), Van Wert. He was a member of Kingsley United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday school and was the Sunday school superintendent. He was a 1945 graduate of York High School. Services are 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Chuck Glover officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Van Wert. Calling is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, and after 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the church. Contributions can be made to the church building fund. Martin Horrigan
Martin F. Horrigan, 67, 139 S. Main St., Minster, died at 5:03 p.m. Nov. 29, 2005, at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. He was ill for two weeks. He was born May 24, 1938, in Cleveland, to Edmund and Ann Kennedy Horrigan. On Feb. 14, 1972, he married Charlene Turner, who died in 1988. Survivors are a sister, Elizabeth (Tony) Frierott, two nephews and a niece, all of Minster. He was formerly a teacher and retired from Dobb's Bindery, Fla. He also worked at Heritage Manor, Minster, and The Grill, New Bremen. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster. He was a graduate of Shaker Heights High School and John Carroll University. Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Louis Schmit officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery. Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster. |
