Orpha Corbett Celina Manor Nursing Home resident Orpha R. Corbett, 93, formerly of Modesto, Calif., died at 2:15 a.m. Dec. 4, 2005, at the nursing home. She was born Jan. 1, 1912, in Webb, Calif., the daughter of Wilfred and Amy Zeek Pirtle. On March 2, 1930, she married Richard Corbett, who died in 1982. Survivors are two brothers, Robert Pirtle, Modesto, Calif., and William Pirtle, Lodi, Calif.; a sister, Juanita Porter, Henderson, Nev.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Deceased are a daughter, Willa Dailey; a brother, Otto Pirtle; a sister, Opal Carroll; and a son-in-law, Donald Dailey. She was a licensed vocational nurse who worked in the obstetrics department of various hospitals for 25 years. She was a graduate of Hartnell College, Salinas, Calif. She was a former member of the Modesto Senoir Citizens. Burial at sea will take place 11 a.m. Dec. 27, 2005, at Monterey Bay, Calif. Arrangements are with Miller Funeral Home, Celina. Anna Jeanette McAfee, 76, 3147 state Route 219, Coldwater, died Dec. 6, 2005, at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born July 15, 1929, in Ohio City, to Lloyd and Ethel Miller Agler. On Jan. 15, 1949, she married Kirby K. McAfee, who died March 29, 2000. Survivors are a son, Kurt (Linda) of Celina; a daughter, Marian Elaine (Sam) Stiles, Coldwater; four brothers, Jim (Mary) Agler, Wren, Marvin (Belle) Agler, Ohio City, and Ned and Ronnie (Vera) Agler, all of Van Wert; five sisters, Loma Miller, of Montana, Carolyn (Alan) Felver, Chattanoga, Joyce (Raymond) Eller, Rockford, Shirley (Irwin) Crider, Lima, and Kathy Funk of Colorado; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was a homemaker and member of the New Life Christian Center, Celina. Services are 2 p.m. Friday at the center, the Rev. Bill Lewis officiating. Burial will be at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina. Minster native, Jean M. Meyer, 73, of Mulberry Grove, Rakestraw Road, Covington, died in the early morning Dec. 6, 2005, at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. She was born July 29, 1932, in Minster, to Florence B. Fischer and Joseph L. Hackemoeller. On Oct. 27, 1952, she married Sylvester F. Meyer, who survives. Also surviving are seven sons, Roger (Alisa), Russia, Stephen (Roxanna), Houston, the Rev. Mark A. of Cochabamba, Bolivia, Gary (Buffy) of Sidney, James (Charlotte) of Houston, and Arthur (Donna) and Terrence (Debra), all of Covington; four sisters, Connie (Jeffery) Cane, Troy, Sharon (Kenneth) Luebke, Fort Loramie, and Joyce (Thomas) Grillot and Shirley (Gregory) Arnett, all of Covington; a brother, David (Alberta) Hackemoeller, Minster; two sisters, Ruth McLellan, Newport, and Nancy (Richard) Romie, Fort Loramie; 35 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Deceased is a brother-in-law, Norman McLellan. She was a homemaker and worked at the former Wooden Shoe Brewery, Minster. She was a food pantry voluntee and a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Covington. She was a 1950 graduate of Minster High School. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Newport, the Revs. Mark A. Meyer and Jim Simon officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, Covington.
