Lucille Gasson Lucille M. Gasson, 77, of 1128 Hager St., St. Marys, died at 2:34 a.m. Dec. 11, 2005, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. She was born Feb. 24, 1928, in St. Marys, to George Edward and Esther Weaver Dipmore. On Aug. 22, 1946, she married Norbert Paul Gasson, who is deceased. Survivors are a son, Paul Edward (Sue) of St. Marys; a sister, Delores (Jim) Hoenie, Bonita Springs, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Mary Frances Suchland, St. Marys, and Catherine Armstrong, Versailles; and three grandchildren. Deceased is a sister, Mary Suchland. She was retired from Valley Nursing Home, St. Marys, where she was a nursing assistant. Private family services are scheduled. Former Burkettsville resident Beverly Hemmelgarn, 75, of Ray, Utah, died Nov. 26, 2005. She was born in Detroit, Mich., to Frank and Iris Littlefield. On April 15, 1949, she married Norman Hemmelgarn, who died May 4, 1987. Survivors are three sons, Bruce (Judy) of Bennington, Neb., Howard of Ray, Utah, and Steve (Shannon) of Eagle, Idaho; two daughters, Deborah Graber, West Jardon, Utah, and Sandra (George) Thornock of Orem, Utah; a sister, Nina Kirk, Georgia.; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Deceased is a son, Keith. She was a homemaker and member of St. Marys Catholic Church, Ray, Utah. Funeral Mass was Nov. 30, at the church, with burial at the church cemetery. Joseph Herman
Joseph A. "Joe" Herman, 73, of Spencerville, died at 11:08 p.m. Dec. 11, 2005, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, following a short illness. He was born Dec. 12, 1931, in Ottoville, to Albert and Mathilda Theresa Hoersten Herman. On June 9, 1956, he married Marie Kroeger, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Teresa (Eric) Riffle, Spencerville, Julie of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Bev England, Elida; two brothers, Leonard (Carole) of Columbus, and James (Arlene) of Kettering a sister, Mary Ann (Al) German , Delphos; a brother-in-law, Bob (Shirley) Kroeger, Spencerville; a sister-in-law, Pat (Frank) Vasquez, Delphos; and four grandchildren. For 50 years he owned and operated Herman's T.V. in Spencerville, retiring this year. He was a 1950 graduate of Delphos Saint John High School and served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean War. He attended Coyne Technical School, Chicago, and was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Spencerville. He was a life member of Bowersock Brothers Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6772 and was a life member of Harry J. Reynolds American Legion Post 191, both of Spencerville. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. John Fleck officiating. Burial will follow in Spencerville Cemetery, where graveside rites will be conducted. Carolyn Marie Morgan, 51, 338 S. Main St., Mendon, died of natural causes Dec. 12, 2005, at Van Wert County Hospital. She was born April 16, 1954, in Celina, to Fred L. and Beulah Byrley Morgan. Her mother survives in Celina. She had been married to Don Dorman, of Pennsylvania, and Raymond Blosser, St. Marys, both of whom survive. Also surviving are a son, David Dorman, Rose Hill; a daughter, Barb (Rex) Diedrich, Van Wert; three brothers, Dudley (Glenda) Ginter, Belleview, Larry (Linda) Byrley, Napoleon, and Sam Morgan, Celina; three sisters, Janice (Bill) Norris, Celina, Sandy (John) Bussing, Defiance, and Michaelene Leiss, Celina; and five grandchildren. Deceased are a brother, Richard Ginter, and a sister, Crystal Schmidt. She was a homemaker, and had worked as a custodian at Huffy Bicycles, Celina, and as a concession worker at Celina Cinemas. Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Randy Christian officiating. Burial will be at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina. Beth Anne Rhoades, 36, of Frederick, Md., died Dec. 8, 2005, at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Md. She was ill for six months and was awaiting a heart transplant. She was born June 5, 1969, in Frederick, to Lou and Judy Freeman Finneyfrock, who both survive. On May 25, 1996, she married R. Wayne Rhoades, who also survives. More survivors are a daughter, Molly Eleanor; a sister, Karen of Frederick, and maternal grandmother, Helen Freeman, Celina. Beverly D.B. Williams, 61, 12080 state route 362, Minster, died at 2:30 a.m. Dec. 10, 2005, at her residence of natural causes. She was born March 27, 1944, in New Bremen, to Orville and Norma Kettler Lampert. On April 3, 1964, she married Jerry C. Williams, who is deceased. Surviving are a son, John (Chere) of Murrieta, Calif.; a daughter, Juliet Martin (Patrick Tanaka), Clearwater Beach, Fla.; a brother, Bernard (Karen) Lampert, Dayton; three sisters, Nancy (Larry) Busse, Minster, Jane (Chet) Roby, Belton, Texas, and Judy (Bernie) Martin, New Bremen; and four grandchildren. Deceased is a son, William Charles Williams. She was a 1962 graduate of New Bremen High School and was employed with Copeland Corp., Sidney, for the past 15 years. Private family services are Wednesday at Gilbert-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, the Rev. Doug Dafoe officiating. Burial will be at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
