Robert Cooper Robert E. Cooper Sr., 81, of Van Wert, died at 8:25 a.m. Dec. 13, 2005, at Van Wert Manor Nursing Home. He was born Aug. 22, 1924, in Van Wert County, to Hiram A and Minnie Pearl Crowe Cooper. He married Frances M. Winhover, who survives in Van Wert. Also surviving are two sons, Robert Jr. (Patricia) and Richard (Kathy), all of Van Wert; two daughters, Patricia Felger and Jeanne (Tyran) Jemison, all of Van Wert; a sister, Leona Claypool, Van Wert; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Deceased are a son, David; a brother, Alva; and a grandson. He was a lifelong farmer in Van Wert County and Dublin Township, Mercer County. He retired from the former Continental Can Co. and Sonoco Plant, in Van Wert after 38 years of service. Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Brickner Funeral Home, the Rev. Rick Adams officiating. Mary E. Gibson, 88, 1802 Kingsbury Drive, St. Marys, died at 10 a.m. Dec. 11, 2005, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. She was born Feb. 20, 1917, in St. Marys, to Charles H. and Emma M. Grubb Stehr. On Dec. 17, 1934, she married Paul Gibson, who died in 1971. Survivors are three daughters, Janet Doute and Jackie Horn, both of St. Marys, and Kay (Jim) Rockwell, Spokane, Wash.; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Deceased are a son, Steven Paul Gibson; a daughter, Sharon Muncher; a brother, George Stehr; and a sister, Mabel Stehr. She was a homemaker and member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys. Mary Anne Hirschfeld, 71, 12600 Plattner Road, St. Marys, died at 10 a.m. Dec. 14, 2005, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys, following an extended illness. She was born Dec. 7, 1933, in New Knoxville, to Gustave and Mary Stienecker Hoge. On Nov. 26, 1955, she married Robert Hirschfeld, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Steven of Naperville, Ill., and John (Linda) of Lima; two daughters, Teri of San Diego, Calif., and Carol (Steve) Collier, Chicago, Ill.; two brothers, Robert Hoge, Scottsdale, Ariz., and Ned Hoge, Valley Forge, Penn.; a sister, Ruth List, The Villages, Fla.; and six grandchildren. Deceased is a brother, Carl Hoge. She was a 1951 graduate of New Knoxville High School, a 1955 graduate of Ohio State University and a registered nurse who worked in medical offices. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and Mothers' Study Club, both of St. Marys. She served in the Dorcas Circle at the church. Services are 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Roman F. Lochtefeld, 86, 5059 Kremer-Hoying Road, St. Henry, died at 8:06 a.m. Dec. 14, 2005, at his residence. He was born June 20, 1919, in St. Rose, to Joseph and Rosa Luttmer Lochtefeld. On Sept. 13, 1941, he married Bernadetta Nieport, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Virgil (Mary Lynn) of Coldwater, and Martin (Elaine) and Henry (Freda), all of Celina; two daughters, Esther (Ken) Homan, Coldwater, and Alice (Donald) Rammel, New Weston; a brother, Arthur (Irene), Osgood; a sister-in-law, Alvina of Celina; 17 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. Deceased are a son, Edwin; two daughters, Mary Ann and Anna Marie; three brothers, Victor, Irwin and Clarence; and a sister, Hilda Heitkamp. He was a farmer and worked at Minster Machine Company. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church; American Legion Post 571, Maria Stein; Fraternal Order of Eagles 3025, Coldwater: Mercer County Farm Bureau; and Minster Machine 25 Year Club. Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Larry Wyen officiating. Burial is at St. Henry Cemetery. Complete military services will be held at graveside by the American Legion. Survivors are two daughters, Robin D. (Paul A.) Skikus, Minster, and Jamie T. (Brad S.) Riley, Xenia; a brother, David G. of Holgate; two sisters, Peggy H. Potter, Lima, and Pam D. Evelyn Schallenberg, 74, 3601 state Route 703, Celina, died Dec. 2, 2005, at Joint Township Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. She was born Sept. 13, 1931, in Celina, to Cletus C. and Gladys R. Denny Fisher. She was divorced from Donald L. Schallenberg, who survives in Celina. Also surviving are four sons, Randy of Celina; Rick (Tina) Adams, Ronald (Tammy) Slife and Donald, all of St. Marys; a daughter, Donna (Bob) Houser, Celina; three sisters, Lou (Dick) Shuman, of Ind., and Shirley Burris and Linda Sue Fisher, all of Celina; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She retired from General Telephone and Huffy and sold Fuller Brushes. She e graduated from Celina High School in 1949 and played violin in the orchestra.
