Robert Bambauer Robert E. Bambauer, 93, formerly of 05673 state Route 274, New Bremen, died at 10:10 p.m. Jan. 11, 2006, at Heritage Manor Nursing Center where he was a resident. He was born Aug. 31, 1912, in Lock Two, to Edward and Amelia Wehrman Bambauer. On July 11, 1948, he married Naomi M. Stroh, who died March 6, 1987. Survivors are a son, Jerry (MaryLou) of New Bremen; a daughter, Michele (Tom) Ziegenbusch, Anna; two sisters, Dorothy (Kenneth) Graham, Dayton, and Katerine Schmeider, New Bremen; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He and his father owned and operated a black smith shop in Lock Two. He then worked as a mechanic at the former Mechstroth's Garage, New Knoxville, and also engaged in farming. He was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ, Bremen, and the Home Benefit Association of New Bremen. Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, the Rev. John W. Tostrick officiating. Burial will follow in German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen. Calling is 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
