Kathryn Hemmelgarn Kathryn Hemmelgarn, 83, of Kettering, died Jan. 24, 2006, at Hospice of Dayton. She was born Dec. 29, 1922, in Fort Loramie, to Louis Henry and Bernadina Bornhorst Barhorst. Her husband Joseph H. Hemmelgarn is deceased. Survivors are five sons, Kenneth (Pamela) of Dayton, Michael (Jeno) of North Carolina, Gregory of Carrollton, Douglas (Debe) of Miamisburg, and Jeffrey (Laurel) of Kettering; four daughters, Nina (Sandy) of Orange Park, Fla., Beth of Dayton, Jean Slonaker, Dayton, and Lori of Kettering; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Deceased are four brothers and two sisters. She was a member of St. Helen's Parish, Dayton, and an Army nurse during World War II. Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Dave Brinkmoeller officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling is 5-8 p.m. Friday at Routsong Funeral Home, Kettering. Contributions can be made to the church.
