Alma Cook Alma B. Cook, 96, former resident of Channel Drive, Celina, died at 1:25 p.m. Jan. 27, 2006, at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater. She was born April 5, 1909, in Upper Sandusky, to Harry Harrison and Jeannie Hughes Hartman. She married Frederick Cook, who died in 1979. Also deceased is a sister. Robert L. Droesch, 71, 512 W. Main St., Coldwater, died Jan. 28, 2006, at his residence. He was born Oct. 16, 1934, in Wendelin, to Isadore and Francis Wapplehorst Droesch. On Oct. 16, 1971, he married Mary Ann Braun, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Barbara (Thomas) Bruggeman, Celina; a brother, Dale (Delores) of Coldwater; a sister-in-law, Linda of St. Henry; and three grandchildren. Deceased are two brothers, Paul and Gerald; and a sister, Lou Ann Wellman. He retired in 1990, from New Idea, Coldwater. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church and their Men's Holy Name Society and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3025, all of Coldwater. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery. Paul Harris, 85, 200 Knoxville Ave., St. Marys, died at 10:24 p.m. Jan. 27, 2006, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. He was born June 16, 1920, in Sidney, to Paul and Gertrude Gross Harris. He married Alma Rita Utz, who is deceased. On May 15, 1971, he married Nora Lewis, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Judy (Chuck) Cuffaro, Cincinnati; a stepson, Phillip Lewis, St. Marys; a stepdaughter, Bonnie (Bruce) Opperman, Elida; a grandchild; four stepgrandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Deceased are a sister, Charlene Wagner; and a stepson, Michael Lewis. He retired from Crown Equipment Corporation, where he was a tool and die maker. He also repaired watches and jewelry. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and graduate of Sidney High School. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9289, St. Marys; and the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks Lodge 1170, Wapakoneta. Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Anthony Cutcher officiating. Burial will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, Fort Loramie. Eleanore C. Moots, 92, 415 E. Front St., New Bremen, died at 3:20 a.m. Jan. 27, 2006, at the Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. She was born on Feb. 18, 1913, in Alpena, Mich., to Thomas and Mary Rembowski Osinski. She married Russell Moots who is deceased. Survivors are two nephews, James Hay of Mich., and Donald Hay of Calif.; and a niece, Rosemary Olst of Mich. Deceased are two brothers Frank Osinski and Victor Osinski; and six sisters, Rosalie Prieur, Julia Snochowski, Martha Taylor, Anna Hay, Lucille Barrett and Mayme Osinski. She retired in 1972, after 32 years at the former Burroughs Corp. (now Unisys), Detroit, Mich. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer, New Bremen. Funeral Mass was today at 10:30 a.m. at the church. The Revs. Thomas Mannebach and James Trick officiated. Burial is in German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen. Lysle E. Schmidt, 73, of Celina, died at 2:55 a.m. Jan. 26, 2006, at St. Rita's Hospital, Lima. He was born June 15, 1932, in Mercer County, to Ervin and Martha Now Schmidt. On June 21, 1953, he married Esther Imler, who survives. Also surviving are a son, David (Pam), of Rockford, Ill.; a daughter, Lynette (Philip) Kittle, Boca Raton, Fla.; a brother, Arian (Mary) of Celina; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Deceased are two brothers, Joseph and Russell. He was formerly employed as administrator, at Coldwater Community Hospital; assistant administrator, Gibbons Hospital, Celina; personnel director, Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Ind.; and purchasing director, Pawating Hospital, Niles, Mich. He was a pastor at New Miami Missionary, New Miami; Bethel Evangelical United Brethren Church, Fort Recovery; Mount Carmel & Hope United Methodist churches, Celina; Holton Avenue Missionary Church, Fort Wayne, Ind.; Niles Missionary Church, Niles, Mich.; Wabash United Church of Christ, Wabash; and Zion Church, New Bremen. He was a graduate of Celina High School and Fort Wayne Bible College. Services are 6 p.m. Friday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, the Revs. Philip Kittle and Brandon Early officiating.
