Former St. Henry resident Mary Ellen Homan, 83, of Newberry, Fla., died at 3:45 a.m. April 25, 2006, at Shands Hospital, Gainesville, Fla. She was born Nov. 25, 1922, in St. Henry, to John and Mary Borger Uhlenhake. On Nov. 25, 1943, she married Paul E. Homan, who died Feb. 19, 1998. Survivors are four sons, Stephen (Sandi), Orlando, Fla., Michael (Mary Lee), Garland, Texas, Jeffrey (Betty), San Juan Capistrano, Calif., and Chris (Linda), Houston, Texas; seven daughters, Patricia (George) Brown, Ballwin, Mo., Margaret (Dermot) Rollison, Fort Washington, Md., Deborah Castellan, Pittsburgh, Pa., Mary Beth (Dan) Dwyer, Golden, Colo.; Barbara (Donald) Idalski, Warren, Mich., Kathleen (David) Woeste, Long Valley, N.J., and Paula (James) Turpening, Gainesville; a sister, Adele Gattes, Centerville; 27 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Deceased are three brothers and three sisters. She was a homemaker and member of the Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Gainesville, Fla. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Henry Catholic Church the Rev. Tony Fortman officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery. Calling is 2-8 p.m. Monday and 9-10:10 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry. Contributions can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. |
