Ruby Bienz Ruby M. Bienz, 80, Celina, died at 11: 44 a.m. April 28, 2006, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater. She was born Oct. 18, 1925, to Leola A. Bottom and Carl D. Wilkins in Wyandotte, Mich. On Jan. 27, 1942, she married Clarence W. Bienz, who died March 27, 1997. Surviving are two sons, John (Teresa), Mendon, and Abe (Suzanne), Rockford; three daughters, Laurel, Albuquerque, N.M., Alice (Charles) Kendall, Mt. Vernon, Ind., and Leola (Ronnie) LaRue, Lindale Ga.; two sisters, Fairy Holmes, Modesto, Calif., and Ivy Green, Michigan; 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Deceased are two sons, Clarence and Alfred Lee; a daughter, Paula Bell; five brothers, Dare, Ray, Ivan, Alfred and LaVaughn Wilkins; a sister, Pearl Daggs; a grandson; and great-grandson. She was a homemaker and member of Willshire and Rockford United Brethren churches. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Ind., the Rev. Trent G. Fogt, 16, 291 S. Frankfort St., Minster, died at 10 p.m. April 27, 2006, in Shelby County from an auto accident. He was born June 3, 1989, in St. Marys to Tracy and Elizabeth Baker Fogt, who survive. Also surviving are a brother, Tyler, at home; a sister, Tricia, at home; paternal grandmother, Sara Fogt, Minster; and maternal grandparents, Bernard and Joan Baker, Celina. Deceased is a grandfather, Tom Fogt. He worked at Haus Der Eleganz Coffee Shop, Minster, and was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster. He was a member of the Minster Family, Career and Community Leaders of America and a sophomore at Minster High School. Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, the Rev. Rick Nieberding officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery. Roy H. Leighner, 73, Rockford, died at 7:57 a.m. April 28, 2006, at Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford. He was born Jan. 9, 1933, to Harry O. and Mary Applegate Leighner, in Allen County. On Nov. 10, 1956, he married Nancy Hoke, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Rodney (Diana), Dayton; two daughters, Cynthia (Douglas) Thompson, Bothell, Wash., and Penny Jo Moffett, Ypsilant, Mich.; a sister, Lois Helen Yeager, Cincinnati; four grandchildren; a step grandchild; and three great-grandchildren. Deceased are three brothers, Ray, Harold and Howard; and a sister, Harriet Thomas. He was retired from Goodyear, St. Marys, with 40 years of service and was a farmer. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War with rank of corporal. He was also a member of Rockford American Legion Post 508 and the Celina Veterans of Foreign Wars. Funeral services are 1 p.m. Monday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, the Rev. Mike Berne officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford. Former Celina resident Myriam Simms, 74, of San Antonio, Texas, died April 26, 2006, in San Antonio. She was born June 11, 1931, in El Salvador, to Antonio and Celia Su‡rez. She married Robert A. Simms, who is deceased, and Thomas O. Ervin, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Robert A. Simms Jr., Austin, Texas; two daughters, M. Anabella (Mario) La Maestra, Brussels, Belgium, and Leslie I. (Rob) Roberts, San Antonio; a brother, Mauricio Su‡rez; four grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. She was homemaker. Services are noon Monday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, San Antonio. Burial will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
