Alice Feltz Alice J. Feltz, 73, 722 East Kremer-Hoying Road, St. Henry, died at 11:47 p.m. May 8, 2006, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. She was born May 27, 1932, in St. Henry, to William and Regina Bertke Schmitt. On April 18, 1953, she married Wilbur J. Feltz, who survives. Also surviving are six, sons, Larry, Marion, Iowa, Ron (Karen), Celina, Glenn, Urbana, Doug, LaGrange, Ind., Chris (Sandi), Wapakoneta, and Ted (Karla), Coldwater; two daughters, Sue (Jim) Zumberger, Fort Loramie, and Pam (Gary) Smith, Montezuma; a brother, Ralph (Dorothy) Schmitt, St. Henry; a sister, Roseann (Ed) Bulcher, Rossburg; a brother-in-law, Paul Keller, Sharpsburg; 16 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Deceased are a sister, Berdella Keller and a daughter-in-law, Geri. She retired from St. Henry Schools and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, where she was a communion distributor, lector, member and past president of the Altar Rosary Sodality, coordinator of visiting ministry and member of the funeral choir. She was a member and past president of the American Legion Post 648 Auxiliary, St. Henry, and a hospital volunteer at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater. Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Saturday at the church the Rev. Larry Wyen officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery. Calling is 3-8 p.m. Friday and 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry. Randy Helmlinger
Randy Helmlinger, 55, 718 Cleveland Ave., St. Marys, died at 8:05 a.m. May 11, 2006, at Triumph Hospital, Lima, following a long illness. He was born Nov. 28, 1950, in Sidney, to Emmett and Ruth Ann Smith Helmlinger. His mother survives in Sidney. On April 19, 1970, he married Pam Blagg, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Michael, Mark and Matthew (Tisha), all of St. Marys; three daughters, Melinda, of Sidney, Melanie and Miranda, both of St. Marys; a brother, Chad, Sidney; a sister, Kim (Thomas) Sharp, Sidney; 10 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Deceased are two infant daughters, Melissa and Margo; and a sister, Vicki Stewart. He was retired from the computer industry and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He attended Lima Technical College. He was a member of Calvary Chapel Baptist Church, Minster, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9289, St. Marys. Services are 11 a.m. Monday at the church the Rev. Greg Ewing officiating. Burial will follow at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen. Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys. Doris R. Overman, 75, 710 Oakwood Drive, Minster, died at 12:30 p.m. May 11, 2006, following an auto accident. See related article on the front page. She was born Jan 14, 1931, in Burkettsville, to Frank and Catherine Bruns Depweg. On Oct. 29, 1955, she married Thomas Overman, who died March 29, 1967. On May 10, 1969, she married Edgar Overman, who died Jan 11, 1998. Survivors are two sons, Mike (Penny), Versailles, and Edgar C. (Raimi), Maria Stein; three daughters, Theresa (Ron) Billenstein, Rossburg, Barbara (Larry) Dues, Coldwater, and Sandy (John) Weitzel, Minster; two brothers, Raymond Depweg, Greenville, and Wilfred (Delma) Depweg, Coldwater; two sisters, Viola (Stanley) Strukamp and Edna Wimmers, all of Dayton; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Deceased are a son, Gerald and three grandchildren. She was a housewife and member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster. She was a former member of the St. John Church, Maria Stein. She was also a member of Naime of the North and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie Auxiliary 1391, both of Minster. Services are 10:30 a.m Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster. Burial is in St. John Cemetery, Maria Stein. Calling is 2-6 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. |
