Marie Ketcham Marie Ketcham, 98, of St. Marys, died at 4:10 a.m. May 17, 2006, at Celina Manor Nursing Home. She was born Oct. 3, 1907, in Geneva, Ind., to John and Minnie Kaeser. She married Herbert Ketcham who is deceased. Survivors are a son, Max (Marge), Montezuma; a daughter, Jesse (Don) Weitz, Macon, Ga.; two brothers, Robert Kaeser, Indianapolis, and Orville Kaeser, Sarasota, Fla.; a son-in-law, Ed Loyer, Lima; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Deceased are a daughter, Jean Loyer; and two brothers, Charles and Archie Kaeser. She was retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, St. Marys. She was a member of the First Friends Church, St. Marys, serving in the choir and as a Sunday School teacher. She belonged to the St. Marys Women's Garden Club. Services are 1 p.m. Friday at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Bill Drummond officiating. Burial will follow at the MRE Cemetery, Berne, Ind. Urban John "Von" Vondrell, 88, of Cincinnati, died May 16, 2006, at his residence. He was born March 20, 1918, in Cassella, to Henry and Pauline Koesters Vondrell. On May 28, 1949, he married Louise Lula Kinninger Vondrell, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, James H. (Starleyne), Cincinnati, and Jerry E. (Becky), Celina; two daughters, Betty L. (Gene) Steinman, Columbus, and Connie M. (Harry) Duncan, Cincinnati; two brothers, Marinus, Coldwater, and Leon, Fort Recovery; two sister, Delma (Wilfred) Depweg, Coldwater, and Marie (Tony) Evers, Cassella; a sister-in-law, Pat Vondrell, Dayton; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Deceased are two brothers, Eugene and Luke; a sisters, Ermina; and two sisters-in-law, Rosie and Rita. He was retired from Prudential Insurance Company. He was honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving as a Master Sergeant during World War II in Europe and Africa with the 398th Bomb Group. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9927, Kettering; charter member of American Legion Post 571, Maria Stein; Knights of St. John Commandery 313, Maria Stein; and Catholic Knights of America Branch 943, Cassella. Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, Dayton, the Rev. Anthony Geraci officiating. Burial is in Calvary Cemetery, Kettering. Thomas H. Whited, 63, 921 Fairground Road, Celina, died May 16, 2006, at his residence of natural causes. He was born Aug. 5, 1942, in Lima, to Harold and Ruth Whited. On June 26, 1971, he married Darlene M. Simmons, who died Oct. 2, 1999. Survivors are a son, Greg, Celina; and a brother, Jerry (Sandy), Chillicothe. He was employed at Shell Gas Station and formerly at Marathon Gas and Service Station, both in Celina. He graduated from Memorial High School, St. Marys. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Celina, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 767, St. Marys, and Western Ohio Fish and Game. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Robert Metheny officiating. Burial will follow in Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
