Esther Brown Esther Leila Brown, 85, 10550 Greenville Road, Van Wert, died at 8:15 p.m. May 18, 2006, at Van Wert Manor Nursing Home. She was born June 16, 1920, in Van Wert, to Harry and Grace Rathbun Bashore. On Jan. 21, 1945, she married Kenneth Eugene Brown, who died Jan. 18, 1997. Surviving are a son, John Gordon (Roberta), Rockford; a daughter, Carol Sue Decker, Van Wert; a brother, Walter (Martha) Bashore, San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Deceased are a brother, Paul E. Bashore; and a sister, Mary Kathleen Giesy. She was a homemaker and member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Van Wert, and involved in the Ladies Aid. She was a 1938 graduate of Hoaglin-Jackson High School. Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, the Rev. Timothy Burden officiating. Burial is at Ridge Cemetery, Van Wert. Calling is noon to 5 p.m. Sunday and after 9:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Elmer Storer
Elmer Storer, 73, 16179 Townline-Kossuth Road, St. Marys, died 9:47 a.m. May 19, 2006, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born April 25, 1933, in Adams County to Roy and Clara Thiess Storer. On May 24, 1952, he married Ludy Warren, who survives. Also surviving are four sons, Dale (Stacy), Dennis, Darrell (Dianne) and David, all of St. Marys; four daughters, Vicki (Dave) Masonbrink, Julie (Brian) Salmons, and Traci (Dave) Liggett, all of St. Marys, and Lori, Lima; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carlos and Calvin. He was retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber, St. Marys, and was a veteran of the United States Army. He attended the Lima Community Church of the Nazarene. He also was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9289 and Eagles Lodge Arie 767, St. Marys. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Twyla Stanifer officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys. Calling is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to St. Rita's Hospice or Lewey Body Syndrome Research. |
