Harley Cyphers Harley R. Cyphers, 70, 5461 Karafit Road, Celina, died the morning of June 9, 2006, at his residence. Death was due to natural causes. He was born Oct. 23, 1935, in Dayton, to Clarence and Ruth Creekmur Cyphers. On Nov. 15, 1958, he married Joanne Lauer, who died April 2, 2000. Survivors are three sons, Mark (Becky), Denton, N.C., Bruce (Kathi), Celina, and Jeff (Candy), Ashtabula; a daughter, Angel (Chris) Jacobs, Decatur, Ind.; a brother, Dale (Helen), West Milton; a sister, Helen Alcorn, Troy; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Deceased are a daughter, Lorie; three brothers, Ira, Everett and Clarence Jr.; two sisters, Myrtle Link and Doris LeBeck; and a grandchild. He retired from the Copeland Corporation, Sidney, and was a U.S. Army veteran. Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater, the Rev. Kevin Nuemann officiating. Survivors are a son, Doug (Sandy), Celina; four daughters, Roberta (Gordon) Brown, Rockford, Mary Lou (Tom) Massengil, Coldwater, and Brenda (Tex) Keifer and Cathy (Carl) Frank, all of Mendon; a brother, Charles (Butch) Zizelman, Rockford; five sisters, Margaret Louise Spindler, Hoagland, Ind., Juanita Matthew, Neptune, Joan Smith, Tomahawk, Wisc., Betty (John) Sites and Patty Wilson, all of Celina; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Deceased is a son, Keith. She was a homemaker and member of the Friends Chapel Church, Rockford. Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, the Rev. Ohio native Donald Spry, 76, of Scottsville, Ky., died June 9, 2006, at Greenview Regional Hospital, Bowling Green, Ky. He was born Dec. 30, 1929, in Tully County, to William Harold and Luette Foley Spry. His wife Virginia Spry, survives. Also surviving are four sons, Robert (Jennie) and Douglas, all of Celina, Steve (Regina), Scottsville, and Michael (Janey), Hastings, N.Y.; a daughter, Cheryl Ann (Mike) Root, Celina; two stepsons, Carl (Robin) Strukamp, Ohio City, and Kurt Strukamp, Van Wert; three stepdaughters, Victoria Kennedy, Wittenberg, Wisc., and Becky Coon and Tanya Haller, both of Van Wert; a brother, Jack (Norma), Van Wert; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; 12 stepgrandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren. He was a retired painter and former employee of the Royal Plaza hotel, Orlando, Fla. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign War Post 5803 and American Legion Post 178, both of Van Wert; Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1291, Celina; and East Willow Church of God, Scottsdale. Services are 7 p.m. today at the church, the Rev. Danny Patrick officiating. Graveside services are 2 p.m. June 22, at IOOF Cemetery with military rites in Convoy. |
