Joan Blakeley Joan E. Blakeley, 78, of North Star, died at 12:10 p.m. July 8, 2006, at Briarwood Manor, Coldwater. She was born May 3, 1928, in Darke County, to Theodore and Anna Poly Baltes. On June 19, 1948, she married Keith M. Blakeley, who died April 17, 2003. Survivors are a son, Ken (Cathy), Cincinnati; two daughters, Patsy (Ernie) Petit, Bedford, N.H., and Brenda Nickol, Greenville; two brothers, Joseph and John Baltes, both of Versailles; a sister, Juanita Gerling, Versailles; and four grandchildren. Deceased are two brothers, Orville and Curtis Baltes; two sisters, Ruth Marchal and Catherine Angle; and a grandson. She was a homemaker and served 20 years on North Star town council. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and American Legion Post 174 Auxiliary and its 8 & 40, all of North Star. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church the Rev. Verna L. Brunswick, 94, of Minster and Newport, died at 5 p.m. July 7, 2006, at Fairhaven County Home, Sidney, where she was a resident for five years. She was born March 22, 1912, in Collinsville, Texas, to Gustin and Crotia Wheeler Hope. On Nov. 23, 1932, she married Theodore Brunswick, who died Aug. 22, 2001. Survivors are three daughters, Patricia (Patrick) Hoying, Minster, Joan (Robert) Dues, Houston, and Barbara (Gerald) Thomas, Sidney; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was the last of her family. a brother and two sisters are deceased. Also deceased are a grandchild and a great-grandchild. She retired as a nurse's aid in the nursery at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Sidney. She was a 1930 graduate of Houston High School and a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Newport. Richard W. Timmerman, 77, 1865 state Route 49, Fort Recovery, died at 6:32 p.m. July 8, 2006, at Briarwood Nursing Home, Coldwater. He was born Jan. 6, 1929, in Burkettsville, to Anthony and Frances Rammel Timmerman. On Oct. 3, 1953, he married Loudonna Reier Timmerman, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Ernie (Jane), Fort Recovery; a daughter, Marge (Kirk) Harman, Versailles; two brothers, Wilfred (Jean), Fort Loramie, and Gerald (Irene), Fort Recovery; three sisters, Joan Hartings, Coldwater, Edna (Paul) Klingshirn, Coldwater; and Lucille (Jerry) Laux, Fort Recovery; two brothers-in-law, Bernard Hartings, St. Henry, and Urban Dirkson, Fort Recovery; a sister-in-law, Alma, Coldwater; and four grandchildren. Deceased are a son, Harold; a daughter, Luella; a brother, Louis; four sisters, Erma Eischen, Ruth Gruss, Bernice Dirkson, and infant Margaret. He retired from Fort Recovery Industries, Fort Recovery. He is a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, American Legion Post 345 and Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 6515, all of Fort Recovery.
