Edith Briner Edith L. Briner, 98, 972 state Route 49, Fort Recovery, died at 12:05 a.m. July 13, 2006, at her home. She was born Oct. 4, 1907, in Portland, Ind., to Charles and Mary Theurer Zorn. On March 24, 1928, she married Floyd Briner, who died April 18, 1981. Survivors include a son, Robert (Judith), Union City, Oh.; a brother Howard Zorn, Portland; a daughter-in-law, Cynthia Briner Fields, Union City, Ind.; eight grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, seven step-grandchildren and 18 step-great grandchildren. Deceased are a son, Jerome; three brothers, Chester, Arthur and Otto Zorn; two sisters, Christina and Ruth Zorn; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 111 and she attended Christ Chapel, both in Fort Recovery. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, the Rev. Georges Hughes officiating. Burial will be at Springhill Cemetery, Fort Recovery. Richard Day, 80, of Lima, died at 1:29 am. July 13, 2006, at his residence. He was born June 16, 1926, in Lima, to Catherine Sidle. He was raised by Grace and Lewis Stemen. In 1944, he married Nina Scott, who died in 1984. In 1985, he married Patricia Graffam, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Dennis (Teresa), Lima, and Gary (Mary), of Michigan; two daughters, Linda (Jerry) Miller, Columbus, and Cathy Day Eckle, of Florida; a step-son, Kevin (Hala) Montague, of Kuwait; three step-daughters, Linda (Ralph) Avery, Alger, Sue Sterling, Elida, and Karen McNeil, Mount Blanchard; a sister, Rita Beining, Ottoville; a son-in-law, Steve Sibold, St. Marys; a step-daughter-in-law, Joyce Montague, Columbus; 10 grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and 11 step-great grandchildren. Deceased are a daughter, Patricia Sibold; step-son, David Montague; and a step-grandchild. He was a retired production foreman at Dana Corp. and worked at Hefner Dairy, both of Lima. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944-1946. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, and Veterans of Foreign War post 1275, both of Lima. Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Candes E. Fisher, 51, 13845 Koenig Road, St. Marys, died at 6:54 a.m. July 14, 2006, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. She was suffering from lung cancer. She was born Oct. 31, 1954, in St. Marys, to Merlin and Mary Rush Gross. On Nov. 23, 1985, she married Daniel L. Fisher, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Korey Fisher, St. Marys, Kevin and Jason Luedeke, both of St. Marys; a step-son, Paul D. Fisher, Celina; three step-daughters, Brenda (Matt) Schneider, New Knoxville, Debbie (Fred) Slade, Greenville, Karen (Russ) Patton, of Blissfield, Mich.; three brothers, Michael Fannon, Mickey Gross and Tim (Nancy) Gross, all of St. Marys; six sisters, Barb (Norm) Coil, Mendon, Karen Auer, Mary Alice Schwartz, Sherry (Bob) Weaver, Brenda (Jerry) Bergman and Sue (Gary) Wicker, all of St. Marys; a grandchild and 11 step-grandchildren. Dorothy M. Hoenie, 70, 526 N. Buckeye St., Celina, died at 6:41 p.m. July 12, 2006, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater. She was born March 10, 1936, in Mercer County, to Joseph and Lillie Place Alexander. On March 1, 1968, she married John Hoenie, who died April 2, 2002. Survivors are a brother, Norman Alexander and a sister, June (Louis) Goodwin, all of Celina. Deceased are two brothers, Joseph and Robert Alexander and a sister, Alice Barger. She retired as bookkeeper for the former Barrs' Five & Dime Store, Celina. She was a 1954 graduate of Celina High School and a member of the Celina First Church of God. William "Bill" Poppe, 83, St. Marys, died at 3:25 a.m. July 13, 2006, at St. Marys Living Center. He was born Aug. 19, 1923, in St. Marys, to Ferd and Myrtle Greer Poppe. On January 5, 1946, he married Joan Makley, who died on April 29, 2002. Surviving are four sons, Craig (Carolyn), Atlanta, Mark, St. Johns, Don (Mary), Port Clinton, and David, California; two daughters, Chris (Cleve) White, Wilmington, N.C., and Linda Jordan, Continental; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Deceased are a brother, Virgil, and a sister, Pauline Elschoff. He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and Fraternal Order of Eagles, all of St. Marys. Former Celina resident Glenn O. Roller, 76, died July 13, 2006 at St. Marys Living Center. He was born March 4, 1930, in Summit County, to Glenn M. and Flossie M. Brunni Roller. On Sept. 15, 1956, he married Ruthida Severns, who died on Jan. 5, 1995. Surviving is a stepson, David (Glenda) Adams, Stapleton, Ala.; a sister, Kay (Richard) Bagley, Van Wert; a brother-in-law, Jack Speakman, Van Wert; companion, Helen Ralston, St. Marys; several stepgrandchildren; step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren. Deceased are three sisters, Jeanette Speakman, Louraine Smith and Vivian Huffman. A member of The Lord's Church, Celina, he was retired from the U.S. Army on Nov. 1, 1970, having served in both Korea and Vietnam. He had operated a flea market in Ohio City. He was a member of the Celina posts of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans, Ohio AMVETS, Korean War Veterans Association, the Northwest Ohio Chapter of the Korean War Veterans Association., 2nd Infantry Division Association, the 2nd Infantry Division Korean War Veterans Alliance, the Vietnam Veterans of America and the Veterans of the Vietnam War. Former St. Marys resident Evelyn E. Schrolucke, 82, died July 9, 2006, at Manatee Memorial Hospital, Bradenton, Fla. She was born Oct. 31, 1923, in Moulton Township, Auglaize County, to Carl and Clara Nuesmeyer Tester. On April 15, 1950, she married Harold Schrolucke, who died in 2004. Survivors are two daughters, Karen (Steve) Bennett, Cape Coral, Fla., and Janet (Pat) Hagerty, Bradenton, Fla.; a brother, James (Nancy) Tester, Wapakoneta; a sister, Helen Link, Zanesville; two sisters-in-law, Clara and Betty Tester, both of Wapakoneta; and five grandchildren. Deceased are an infant daughter, Donna Irene; two brothers, Ron and Gerald Tester; a brother-in-law, Virgil Link; and a sister-in-law, Helen Fledderjohann. Former Rockford resident, Ryan John Temple, 31, of Indianapolis, Ind., died at 9:56 a.m. July 14, 2006, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, where he was a patient. He was born Feb. 6, 1975, to Rick D. and Deborah K. Taylor Temple, who survive in Rockford. On Sept. 13, 2003, he married Katie Cromer, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Kayla, at home; four brothers, Aaron (Courtney) and Joel, all of Rockford, Troy (Jamie), Ohio City, Jason, Camp Pendleton, San Diego, Calif.; maternal grandparents Mary Lou Taylor and John (Nancy) Taylor, all of Rockford. He was a shipping supervisor for Stone Path Logistics, in Indianapolis, and a member of Rockford United Methodist Church. Elizabeth Joy Weitz, 27, of Cincinnati, died July 12, 2006, while giving birth to twins at Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati. The babies -- Cohen and Kiersten -- also died. She was born Oct. 19, 1978, in Columbus, Ind., to Robert and Vicki Rozzi Hassett. Her father is deceased and her mother survives in Cincinnati. On May 12, 2001, she married Brad W. Weitz, who survives. Also surviving are a step-daughter, Lauren, at home; two sisters, Julie Hassett Atkin, Los Angeles, Calif., and Sarah (Ben) Jones, Lebanon; father-in-law, Jack (Paula) Weitz, Celina; mother-in-law, Linda (Bill) Sieber, Cincinnati; two brothers-in-law, Jeremy (Carrie) Weitz, St. Marys, and Christian Weitz, Celina; and two sisters-in-law, Stephanie Hicks and Kellie Hall, both of Cincinnati. She had been employed as a senior underwriter for Cincinnati Financial the past five years.
