Reuben Henschen Reuben W. Henschen, 86, 04687 Southland Road, New Bremen, died at 8:05 p.m. August 19, 2006, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. He was born Oct. 1, 1919, near New Knoxville, to Herman F. and Alvina M. Haberkamp Henschen. On May 26, 1942, he married Margaret L. Wagner Beickman, who died Sept. 24, 1996. Survivors are two sons, Larry (Karen), Springfield, and Roger (Sharon), St. Marys; two daughters, Mary Metzger and Kathryn (Stan) Chalk, both of New Knoxville; a brother, Victor (Pat), New Knoxville; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Deceased are two brothers Leonard and Elmer Henschen. He was a retired farmer and repaired trundle sewing machines for the Amish. He was a lifetime member of the First United Church of Christ, New Knoxville. He was a 1937 graduate of New Knoxville High School, former New Bremen High School Board member and attended Platt Deutsche meetings. Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. David Williams officiating. Burial will follow at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen. Gale L. Hertel, 85, 902 Rosewood Drive, Celina, died at 11:20 a.m. Aug. 17, 2006, at Celina Manor Nursing Home. He was born March 1, 1921, in Van Wert, to Gaylord and Edith Mae Price Hertel. On Nov. 17, 1940, he married Audrey Margaret Saam, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter Janice (Jerome) Hoelscher, Celina; two sons, Ronald (Jan), Celina and Larry (JeAnn), Indianapolis; and six grandchildren. Deceased are two brothers, Dale and Bernard. He was a retired farmer and member of Mount Tabor Church of God. Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. James Keiser officiating. Betty L. Hoover, 80, 300 state Route 119, Fort Recovery, died at 10:55 a.m. Aug. 20, 2006, at her residence. She was born March 23, 1926, in Greenville, to Granville and Bertha Rheinhardt Martin. She married Robert Bias, who is deceased. Her second marriage was to Raymond McQuire, who is also deceased. On May 8, 1972, she married John Hoover, who died May 8, 1996. Survivors are three sons, Terry (Sheila) and Ronnie Bias, all of Fort Recovery, and Jerry Bias, Portland, Ind.; two daughters, Cheryl (Nick) Minnich, Geneva, Ind., and Sandy (Tom) Rammel, Coldwater; a stepdaughter, Mary Hoover, Brevard, N.C.; a brother, Carl (Jean) Martin, Farmland, Ind.; two sisters, Joan (Dennis) Franck, Portland, Ind., and Donna (Keith) Stump, Union City, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren. Deceased is one grandson. She was employed as a telephone operator at the former United Telephone Company, Portland, Ind.; worked as a self-employed telephone cable splicer, was employed at the Stirrup Factory and was owner-operator of the former Betty's Tanning Salon, both of Fort Recovery. She was past president and member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6515 Auxiliary and American Legion Post 345 Auxiliary, both of Fort Recovery; Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary and Red Hat Society, both of Portland, Ind.; member of Rosie the Rivetor from the World War II Era and Fort Recovery United Methodist Church; and was a volunteer at State of the Heart Home Health & Hospice. Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, the Rev. Robert Dungan officiating. Burial is at Springhill Cemetery, Fort Recovery. Renee Marie Huber, 29, of Karafit Road, Celina, died in the early morning of August 19, 2006 in an accident near Coldwater. She was born Oct. 20, 1976, in Sidney, to Myron and Norma Heuing Huber. Survivors are a brother, Chuck, Celina, two sisters, Kim (Alan) Sutter, Celina, and Sherri (Joel) Ranly, Saint Henry. She was co-owner/operator of the Shingle Shack, southside of Grand Lake St. Marys. She attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Montezuma. She was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1473, Celina. A 1995 graduate of Celina High School, she received a Bachelor's degree in Business from Tiffin College. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. James Dugal officiating. Burial is at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery, Montezuma.
