Naomi Birkmeyer Naomi A. Birkmeyer, 91, of Coldwater, died at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 10, 2006, at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater. She was born Nov. 24, 1914, in St. Anthony, to Jacob and Philomena Jutte Weigel. On Sept. 7, 1935, she married Sylvester C. Birkmeyer, who died Aug. 23, 1998. Survivors are a son, William (Stephanie), Oakmont, Pa.; a daughter, Marjorie Birkmeyer, Coldwater; eight grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Deceased are a daughter, Janet Stauffer; three brothers, John, Albert and Cyril Weigel; three sisters, Emma Schroer, Henrietta Sudhoff and Sr. M. Caroline Weigel; a son-in-law, Dick Stauffer; and a grandchild. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater; member and past president of St. Ann's Rosary Altar Sodality; member of St. Cecelia Knights of St. John; sewing volunteer at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater; and past president of the former Community Hospital Auxiliary. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Ronald Wilker officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery. Robert A. Flore, 77, of Celina, died at 5 a.m. Sept. 10, 2006, at the Miller House, Celina. He was born Dec. 2, 1928, in Mercer County, to Russish P. and Eddythe I. Webb Flore. On June 5, 1954, he married Dorothy M. Enyart, who died April 4, 2000. Survivors are two daughters, Debra (Fred) Roll, Greenville, and Barbara (Ron) Johnson, Urbana; two brothers, Ray J. (Patricia) and Lester L. (Sharalene), all of Celina; a sister, Helen Parker, Celina; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He was a bulk delivery driver for Thermogas, Celina. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving with a medical unit in Austria and Germany during the Korean War. He was a member of Celina Church of Nazarene and served as a trustee on the church board. He was a graduate of Center Township High School, Neptune. Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Larry Hamilton officiating. Burial is at Fairview Cemetery, near Celina. C. Jeannine Hirschfeld, 76, 144 Bear Drive, New Bremen, died at 9:35 p.m. Sept. 9, 2006, at the Hospice of Dayton. She was born July 26, 1930, in Sidney, to Leo and Irene Gossard Sheely. On Nov. 10, 1956, she married Nathan Hirschfeld, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Neil, Eugene, Ore.; a daughter, Karen Fox, New Bremen; three brothers, Ronald (Peggy) Sheely, Vandalia, Gerald (Diane) Sheely, Findlay, and Philip (Marcia) Sheely, Richardson, Texas; and two grandchildren. Deceased is a sister-in-law, Virginia Seely. She worked at Monarch Machine & Tool Co., Sidney, and was a homemaker. She was a graduate of Sidney High School. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, New Bremen, where she taught Sunday School for over 27 years. She was a member of American Legion Post 241, New Bremen, of which she was the former treasurer for a number of years. Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Revs. John Tostrick and Eugene Hegemier officiating. At her request, her body is to be cremated following the services and her remains will be buried at a later date in the German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen. Jack E. King, 82, of Ohio City, died at 8:15 a.m. Sept. 9, 2006, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. He was born March 30, 1924, in Terre Haute, Ind., to Dewey and Eva E. McDaniel King. On Dec. 14, 1945, he married Dorothy L. Follmer, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Linda (Terrill) Snyder, Rockford; and a sister, Bette (Russell) Cox, Corydon, Ind. Deceased is a brother, Billy. He worked as a supervisor in several machine shops. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was formerly a member of the American Legion Post 346, Ohio City. He was born June 6, 1933, in Connersville, Ind., to Ernest and Violet Young Levi. On Sept. 6, 1958, he married Elnora Heindel, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Jeff (Theresa) and Dennis, all of Celina; a brother, Eldon (Shirley), Celina; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Deceased are four brothers, Ernest, Norman, Ferrell and Loren and four sisters, Elma Firestone, Naomi Block, Anna Belle Young and Doris Davis. He was a retired janitor, who worked at Mendon Schools and Huffy Bicycle Co., Celina. He was a member of New Life Apostolic Church, American Legion Post 210, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5713, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1473 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1291, all of Celina. Also surviving are a sister, Trista, at home; four grandparents, Mike and Colleen Goodspeed and Gary and Sheila Clark, all of Celina; and three great-grandparents, Florence Paulus and James and Thelma Mallory, all of Celina. Leon R. Rupert, 65, 310 S. Main St., Mendon, died at 3:30 a.m. Sept. 10, 2006, at his residence. He was born Nov. 17, 1940, in St. Marys, to Leroy and Golda Mihm Rupert. Survivors are two sons, Leroy (Michelle), Mendon, and Roger (April), Ansonia; a daughter, Angie (Lester) Gause, Decatur, Ind.; a stepdaughter, Charlene (John), St. Marys; two brothers, William (Barb), Xenia, and Michael (Irene), Miles, Mass.; two sisters, Virginia Carter, Celina, and Janet Seibert, St. Marys; two half brothers, Doug (Martha), New Knoxville, and Jack (Nancy), Galveston, Texas; a half sister, Debra (Dean) Kyle, Phoenix, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
