Frances Emans, 70, 305 E. High St., Mendon, died at 5:04 a.m. Oct. 2, 2006, at Van Wert County Hospital. She was born Aug. 4, 1936, in Wilmington, Del., to Francis and Agnes Spring Jackson. On May 27, 1961, she married William Emans, who survives. Also surviving are a son, John (Mi Ryong), Omaha, Neb.; two daughters, Marian Kaye Emans and Margaret (Jody) Oates, all of Westerville; and four grandchildren. Deceased are a brother, Bud Spring; and a sister, Jane Walker. She was a homemaker and served as a Mercer County Board of Elections poll worker in Mendon for many years. She was a member of the Mendon United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Mendon, the Rev. Charles Eagle officiating. Burial is at Mendon Cemetery. Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Contributions can be made to the Cancer Association of Mercer County. Rose Heitkamp
Rose Heitkamp, 81, 5490 state Route 219, Coldwater, died at 9:15 p.m. Oct. 1, 2006, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minster. She was born May 30, 1925, in Minster, to Bernard and Mary Berning Prenger. On May 13, 1950, she married Ernest Heitkamp, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Mark (Beth), Cincinnati; three daughters, Elaine (Dan) Golden, Flower Mound, Texas, Gayle (Don Hemmelgarn), London, and Peg (Jim) Schmiesing, Fort Loramie; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Deceased are a brother, Herman Prenger, and a sister, Agnes Clune. She formerly worked at Celina Insurance Group and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and its ladies rosary altar sodality. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Daniel Schmitmeyer officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery. Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater. Contributions can be made to the Susan Koman Breast Cancer Foundation.
