Rose Bremke

Philothea native and former Celina resident Rose H. Bremke, 95, of Dayton, died Oct. 10, 2006, at the Maria Joseph Center, Dayton.
   She was born Dec. 3, 1910, in Philothea, to Herman and Anna Dahlinghaus Fortkamp. On May 25, 1935, she married William H. Bremke, who died Jan. 9, 1977.
   Survivors are two sons, Robert (Donna), Melbourne, Fla., and Paul (Shirley), Sidney; a daughter, Sister MaryAnn, Dayton; a sister, Pauline Plauchan, Avon Lake; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
   Deceased are five brothers Henry, Aloysius, Lawrence, Louis and Jerome; and four sisters, Ida Weigel, Hermina Stilphen, Mary Davis and Veronica Fortkamp.
   She formerly owned and operated Bremke Wallpaper and Paint on West Logan Street, Celina. She was a 65-year member of the Supreme Ladies Auxiliary Knights of St. John International.
   Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Precious Blood Catholic Church, Dayton, the Rev. Angelo Anthony officiating. Burial is at St. Marys Cemetery, Celina.
   Calling is 7-9 p.m. Friday and 8-10 a.m. Saturday at Salem Heights Convent, Dayton.
   Arrangements are being handled by Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.

Dale Humbert

Dale Humbert, 88, of Celina, died this morning, Oct. 11, 2006, at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater.
   Arrangements are pending at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina.


Harry Jones

New Weston native Harry R. Jones, 82, of Greenville, died Oct. 6, 2006, at Heartland of Greenville.
   He was born in February 1924 in New Weston, to William and Elsie Chrisler Jones.
   Surviving are a sister, Joan (Owen) Shumaker, Hudson, Ind.; and a caregiver, his great-niece, Kimberly Leeper, Rossburg.
   Deceased are four brothers, Billy, Richard, Donald and Harold.
   There are no calling or services. He willed his body to science.


Helen Verhoff

Helen L. Verhoff, 86, of Columbus Grove, died at 9:10 a.m. Oct. 10, 2006, at Putnam Acres Care Center, Ottawa.
   She was born Dec. 14, 1919, in Rockport, to Joseph and Mary Riepenhoff Lucke. On March 1, 1938, she married Amos H. Verhoff, who died Oct. 25, 1992.
   Survivors are five sons, Ivan (Lena), Daniel (Mary Kay) and Michael A. (Kim), all of Columbus Grove, William A. (Monica), Columbus, and Ronald (Grace), Lima; four daughters, Alice (Robert) Palte, Glandorf, Marjorie (Larry) Tabler and Judy (Gary) Kirst, all of Columbus Grove, and Mary Beth (Randy) Diller, Fort Recovery; 23 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
   Deceased are a brother, Carl Lucke; a sister, Alice Broecker; and three grandchildren.
   She was a homemaker and member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Parish Catholic Ladies of Columbia, Parish Altar Rosary, American Legion Post #516 Auxiliary, Senior Citizens, Lord's Pantry and the Pinochle Club, all of Columbus Grove.
   Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Ron Warnimont officiating. Burial is at a later date in the church cemetery.
   Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Ottawa. A family altar rosary service is 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
   Contributions can be made to St. Anthony's School or Lord's Pantry, both in Columbus Grove, or Putnam Acres Care Center, Ottawa.
