Dale Humbert

Former Celina resident Dale S. Humbert, 88, 5707 Karch Road, Coldwater, died at 2:25 a.m. Oct. 11, 2006, at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater.
   He was born March 7, 1918, in Liberty Township, Mercer County, to Nicholus and Pearl Painter Humbert. On May 28, 1938, he married Mary E. Bixler, who survives.
   Also surviving are a daughter, Sharon (Ralph) Slusser, Coldwater; a brother, Robert, Rockford; a sister, Blanche, Celina; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
   Deceased are two brothers, Stanley and Gerald; two sisters, Lula Kinnison and Violet Humbert; and a great-grandson.
   He retired after 45 years as a foreman in the mill room at the former Mersman Furniture Co., then worked five years as a custodian at Doctor's Care, both in Celina. He served 35 years as chaplain of the Free & Accepted Masons Lodge 241, Celina, was a 64-year member of Wabash United Church of Christ, and a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 91, Celina, and Unity Grange 2116, Washington Township.
   Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina. Burial is at North Grove Cemetery, Celina.
   Calling is 3-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
   Contributions can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.


Vernon Klosterman

Vernon "Vern" L. Klosterman, 67, of Kettering, died Oct. 11, 2006, at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton.
   He was born June 4, 1939, in Botkins, to Lawrence and Florentina Klosterman. On April 28, 1962, he married Margie Geise, who survives.
   Also surviving are two sons, Kevin, Jackson, Mich., and David (Jennifer), Dayton; a daughter, Brenda (Duane) Root, Bellbrook; two brothers, Elmer and Norman, both of Celina; two sisters, Mary Siegrist, Fort Recovery, and Esther Borger, Celina; and four grandchildren.
   Deceased is a sister, Irma Eiting.
   He was a member of the Church of the Ascension, Dayton.
   Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Chris Worland officiating. Burial is at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton.
   Calling is 5-8 p.m. today at Routsong Funeral Home, Kettering.

Irene Nuesmeyer

Irene S. Nuesmeyer, 88, of Wapakoneta, died at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 11, 2006, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
   She was born April 8, 1918, near New Bremen, to Albert and Rebecca Boesel Westerbeck. On Sept. 14, 1946, she married Forest L. Nuesmeyer, who died Oct. 22, 2001.
   Survivors are three sons, Tom and Bill (Anna Kay), all of St. Marys, and Steve (Tammy), Wapakoneta; a daughter, Betty (Gregory) Bergman, Minster; two sisters-in-law, LaRose Theis, Lafayette, and Leona, Otterbein-St. Marys; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
   Deceased are two brothers, Arnold and Paul Westerbeck and three sisters, Wilhelmina Niekamp, Esther Woehler and Marie Schwaberow.
   She was employed as a registered nurse in private practice with Dr. H.C. Weisenbarger, Lima, and retired from JTDM Hospital, St. Marys. She was a 1936 graduate of New Bremen High School and a 1940 graduate of Lima Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Wapakoneta, and American Legion Post 44 Auxiliary, New Knoxville.
   Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Alex Gondola officiating. Burial is at Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton.
   Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.
   Contributions can be made to Joint Township District Memorial Hospital Nursing Scholarship Fund or the music fund of the church.


Barbara Robertson

Former Celina resident Barbara Montgomery Robertson, 81, died Oct. 8, 2006, at Sunrise of Carmel, of Indiana. Death was due to Alzheimer's disease.
   She was born in Frankfort, Ind., to Carl Sibbitt and Ruth McBride. She was married to former Celina resident Don Montgomery, who is deceased. Also deceased are husbands Warren Weirich and Watson Robertson.
   Survivors are two sons, Bill Montgomery, Celina, and Tom Montgomery, Dale City, Va.; two daughters, Betsy Combs, Indianapolis, Ind., and Nancy Goldberg, Kirkland, Wash.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
   Deceased is a brother, Joe.
   She was a 1943 graduate of Frankfort High School and a 1947 graduate of DePauw University. She was president of DePauw's Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority and a member of Panhellenic Council and the Naiad Synchronized Swimming Group. She also was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Celina.
   Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Harry Moore Mortuary, Indianapolis.
   Calling is 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary.
