Gladys Howell-Barth Former Celina resident Gladys Vivian Howell-Barth, 92, of Greenville, died at 1 a.m. Oct. 14, 2006, at Heartland of Greenville. She was born March 19, 1914, in Campbell County, Ky., to Odelin H. and Edna Woods Schneider. Her first husband, Leslie Howell, and second husband, Leonard Barth, are deceased. Survivors are a daughter, Carolyn Brock, Buffalo, N.Y.; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Deceased are a son, Donald Howell; a daughter, Patricia Howell; a brother, Harold Schneider; and two sisters, Ruth Mix and Edith Kramer. She was a homemaker and member of the Loyal Order of Moose and Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, the Revs. Tim Lehman and Gerald Miller officiating. Burial is at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville. Lillie Little, 94, of Wheelwright, Ky., died Oct. 14, 2006, at the St. Marys Living Center. She was born Nov. 18, 1911, in Pike, Ky., to Joe and Martha Thornsberry Ward. On Feb. 6, 1928, she married Perry Little, who died Feb. 19, 1981. Survivors are a son, Effert (Faye), St. Marys; a stepdaughter-in-law, Mary, Betsy Lane, Ky.; two brothers, Brownloe Ward, of Kentucky, and Hasroe (Phyllis) Ward, St. Marys; two sisters, Osie Robertshaw, of Alabama, and Virginia Bates, Somerset, Ky.; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and numerous stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren. Deceased is a son, Charles; a stepson, Harlan Ward; a stepdaughter, Mary Ward; four brothers, Will, Andy, Perry and Daniel Ward; and three sisters, Sarah, Christine and Lizzie Ward. Rose A. Zumberge, 92, 132 Linn St., St. Henry, died at 3:15 p.m. Oct. 14, 2006, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater. She was born Jan. 15, 1914, in Burkettsville, to Henry and Mary Borgerding Nieport. On May 10, 1938, she married Edward A. Zumberge, who died June 30, 1976. Survivors are three sons, Norman (Nancy) and Linus (Diane), all of Celina, and Gene, Denver, Colo.; four daughters, Patricia Herr, Fairborn, Carol (Keith) Henderson, Cadiz, Edna (Ron) Smith, Virgilina, Va., and Barbara (Allan) Josselyn, Lessburg, Va.; a brother, Joseph, St. Henry; two sisters, Alberta Weitzel, Sharpsburg, and Bernadette Lochtefeld, St. Henry; a sister-in-law, Delores Nieport, St. Henry; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Deceased are a brother, Tony Nieport, and a grandchild. She was a homemaker, a former nurse's aid, a caregiver to the elderly and a quiltmaker. She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Tony Fortman officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
